Position Overview:
Books of Discovery is an educational publisher in Boulder, Colorado. We are looking for a Sales Representative for our Education Accounts Team. This is a salaried (not commission-based) position. Training will take place in Boulder. Once trained, there is a possibility of working remotely a few days a week. This full-time position is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Contact new prospects to offer review copies of our educational resources.
- Identify customer needs and educate them about our products.
- Send review copies to academic faculty and maintain communication with them throughout the duration of sales cycle.
- Respond to incoming review copy requests.
- Document all contacts and activities in our database (ACUMEN).
- Travel and exhibit at 3 to 5 conferences annually, including on weekends
- Maintain communication with our Advisory Council members.
- Manage Priority Accounts.
- Research and establish new contacts in preparation for on-site visits to schools.
- Arrange and conduct visits to school programs occasionally.
- Help to identify potential opportunities for new markets to sell to and strategize a plan to gain market share.
- Incorporate customer feedback into new product development.
- Occasionally take product orders when called or if Customer Service department is in need of assistance.
- Present remotely to academic faculty to help close the adoption process.
- Provide remote training to instructors to help orient them to our resources.
- Assist with monthly sales reports.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1+ years of successful experience in phone/ email based sales and/or customer service.
- Previous experience in publishing and/or manual therapy professions is advantageous (Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Pilates, Exercise Science).
- Strong time management, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Motivated and disciplined to work autonomously, but must also possess the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt and work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Customer-focused and action-oriented, committed to achieving high-quality results.
- Excellent communications and presentation skills.
- Well organized, flexible, and focused on meeting deadlines.
- Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Experience and willingness to make cold phone calls as well as follow warm leads.
- Good research skills to assist with identifying new leads.
- Familiarity or interest in manual therapies, especially Physical Therapy, Massage and Pilates.
- Must have high ethical standards and integrity, coupled with a desire to participate in growing our sales and supporting our organization.
