You feel competent & capable of creating successful promotional plans, forecasting, working closely with large retail customers, expanding distribution & prospecting new major accounts... YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Assist in the development & execution of distribution strategies for The Honest Stand in the Natural, Conventional & Box channels.
- Be a department & company leader. Work with Director of Marketing to implement & manage a demo program including hiring & training the brand demo teams.
- Provide support for customer service issues & coordinate the use of company resources to make sure our customers are happy.
- Dive into data! Utilize & understand syndicated data to identify sales opportunities & develop presentations in a creative manner.
- Utilize internal company sales reports, SPINs, & other scan data to review business & spot trends/opportunities.
- Know what type of trade works best with varying types of customers, channels, & retailers to maximize brand awareness & customer trial.
- Know our numbers like it’s your social! Calculate Margins, Customer Profitability, Promotional Effectiveness, New SKU Payout, etc.
- Provide insights & recommend marketing strategies to develop & enhance velocities & the brand’s awareness.
- Make regularly scheduled sales calls on designated major & minor accounts that meet The Honest Stand sales growth targets.
- Develop & motivate broker & distributor networks to support the company’s mission & sales objectives.
- Effectively manage time & travel while staying on schedule with your projects & priorities.
- Pay attention to what customers like, dislike, talk about & are asking for. Organize that information & present it to the team with suggested expedient & appropriate actions.
- Work to help coordinate, as well as participate, in trade shows (ex: Expo West, Fancy Foods, distributor shows, etc.).
- Operate in a startup culture handling additional duties as assigned (aka playing Mario Cart in the breakroom with the production crew).

- You’re savvy in the natural food channel & are ambitious in learning about mass, club, & other channels.
- You’ve got a strong understanding of distributor-based business models & networks.
- You have a strong emotional intelligence, self-awareness & a constant desire to learn Â
- You own it! You’re comfortable taking responsibility for actions, behaviors, & contributions.
- You know your way around managing a project (or two, or three) & are able to stay on point & complete tasks.
- You have strong analytical & computer skills (Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Office).
- You’re no dumb dumb - you’ve got excellent oral & written communication skills.
- You understand a P&L & are able to prioritize programs based on key financial criteria.
- You have a business degree emphasizing sales, marketing or other job-related field or equivalent business experience.
- There are 3+ years of sales experience in the natural / specialty food industry under your belt.
- You like being a jet setter! Approximately +65% from coast to coast in the US of A!
