BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Manager will manage key accounts, brokers, and distributor partners within the development of the Emerging Channel for Justin's. This role entails executing against sales plans with strategic accounts, understanding customer operating models, and developing business relationships at the highest levels of customer teams. Internally, the SM works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensures accurate forecasting and alignment of brand strategy with customer strategy. In addition to the management of existing business, this role will also actively support new business opportunities across multiple platforms including Food Service, C-store, Drug, Club, and Ecommerce.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads development and execution of annual Business Plans for assigned customers. Directs the development of annual account business plans; strategy, tactics (new products, distribution, shelving and merchandising). Establishes trade promotion plans and generates the annual customer promo calendar.
- Leads the channel development process for Justin's. Develops targeted list of customers and pursues new distribution in new markets, channels and geographies. In conjunction with Sales Strategy and Brand Management, develops sales story for successful placement. Secures broker partner for day-to-day execution -- this may involve interviewing and selecting a new broker partner. Solves for distribution challenges by either using existing distribution relationships or securing new distributors.
- Champion of Broker/Partner Team Development (training, orientation, coaching, motivation). Manage performance and monitor progress vs. plan with regards to volumes, budgets, spending, MBO's, etc. Directs and participates in the Quarterly Broker Review Meetings and provide input into preparation of Broker selling tools.
- Penetrates customer's key decision makers, understands their business model and key initiatives to meet customer needs and Justin's business objectives. As appropriate, brings in Senior Justin's leadership to align with customer strategically. Understands customer operating model and success drivers.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 1+ years experience in gourmet, natural, specialty, foodservice, C-store, drug, club, or E-commerce food sales.
- Proven knowledge of fact-based selling, working with syndicated data, excellent communication, and solid organizational, tactical and analytical skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, with an advanced history utilizing PowerPoint to create successful sales presentations and a solid understanding of basic Excel math.
- Experience with alternative channels
- Broker management experience.
- Exposure to retail marketing.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

- 3+ years of either gourmet, natural, specialty, foodservice, C-store, drug, club, or E-commerce food sales.
