Overview

The Controller is the skeletal system of Pact. It provides the structure that the organization needs to move freely. From transaction processing to payroll and onboarding, the Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day back-end requirements of the business. A thorough understanding of the entire organization is vital to facilitate the numerous cross-functional requirements of this position. The Controller must have a mastery of accounting, and be a process-driven, efficient self-starter with a significant attention to detail. Though often behind the scenes, the Controller role is vital to the Company’s ability to operate successfully and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting
  • Establish and maintain accounting records for the Company
  • Oversee all transaction-level accounting
  • Manage A/R and A/P
  • Close monthly financials in a timely manner
  • Oversee year-end Audit/Review process
  • Own year-end tax filing process and K-1 generation
  • Ensure accurate inventory tracking
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of fixed assets
  • Maintain near-term cash flow projections (weekly)
HR / Administrative
  • Maintain adequate insurance coverage for the Company and its employees
  • Process payroll
  • Onboard new employees and vendors
  • Process and reimburse expense reports
  • Oversee company-wide systems, including ERP (Netsuite) and email (Google)
  • Assist in maintenance of IT infrastructure

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong technology skills (MS Office, Google Apps)
  • Experience with consumer-facing and/or e-commerce brands preferred
  • Netsuite experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond job responsibilities
  • Startup mentality
