Full Job Description
Recruiting Firm, Riderflex has been hired by our client, The Realm of Caring, to find their Chief Executive Officer!

Industry: Non-Profit, Cannabis
Title: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Reports to: Board of Directors
Direct reports: 7-Operations, Development, Education, Data and IT, Communications, Research, Child Care Center
Type: Full-time/W-2

Have you been waiting for the right opportunity for your passion and profession to align? Cannabis nonprofit with excellent benefits!
Who They Are
Realm of Caring is a high impact 501(c)(3) nonprofit that grew out of the need for families to have reliable, credible information about potentially life-changing cannabis and hemp related therapies. They are redefining cannabis. Collaborating on innovative research. Providing revolutionary education while building community. Empowering families to lead better lives and inform healthcare professionals about options for their patients.
Who They Need
In their growth as an organization, they are now entering a new chapter of building out systems and teams to handle the increased interest in this cause. The Co-founder/CEO is retiring to the Board and a key hire for this next phase is a dedicated Chief Executive Officer, who will deliver critical results through the highest-impact engagements with their team and potential donor base, as well as build the systems, processes, and team to support this work.

This role is meant for an inspiring leader who has been highly successful in engaging and closing through authentic one-on-one conversations, and who has expertise in evaluating and implementing efficient programs to meet families in need. This leader will have a unique background combination of customer service, healthcare, and technology. This person is a lover of data with an extreme desire to build community. Key aspects of the ideal candidate include:
  •  A personal story that connects with their mission – whether from their own experience, or someone close to them, this person has seen the life-changing benefits of cannabis-related therapies, or knows the impact of chronic diseases on patients and their families. This person channels their experience with a strong sense of optimism that big change is possible, and feels a personal calling to have an even greater impact in this phase of their career.
  • Is Successful in organizational leadership. This is someone who enjoys telling a great story, listening and engaging with authenticity, being bold in making decisions, transparency in communication and persisting to get results (and modeling and coaching that for others). You must have a generosity that scares yourself and will balance caring about the internal team including the individual on the team while putting the families we serve first. In particular, the right candidate has a track record of increasing revenue in a growing organization, by employing the highest-impact approaches while leading the team to greater successes to serve the world.
  • A natural builder – this person has gravitated toward roles that didn’t exist before, coming in to add structure and direction to their function, always leaving the organization in a place of stability and sustainability because he or she can balance both vision and process. This person has a start-up and growth mentality, creates things with minimal resources, and truly enjoys getting their hands dirty while figuring out the critical next steps with their eye always on the long term vision and success of the organization and its team.
  • A strategic thinker and quick decision-maker – rather than being pulled into the weeds, he or she excels at assessing needs and gaps (especially related to systems and processes), identifying the most effective solutions and priorities, and facilitating the critical steps to move the team forward. This person always comes to the table with a thoughtful recommendation and the reasoning behind it and isn’t attached to the outcome. The one thing you can count on in this industry is change and transition. This person thrives and appreciates the challenge of this dynamic environment.

  • The highest degree of integrity – not only because this role engages with donors to responsibly steward the investments in their impact, but also because they are connected to an emerging and often misunderstood industry, and as an organization, they have a responsibility to do what is right, so that more families may benefit. This is a person who has experience with similarly high expectations, personally takes responsibility for their actions, and cleans up their mistakes with grace.
