Full Job Description

This position will develop, implement and monitor company policies and procedures as related to Food Safety, Food Security, and Quality Assurance programs, including ensuring our Quality Manual and Food Safety Plan is up to date and being followed at all times.

Accountabilities:

  • Continuously evaluate quality systems, and submit change recommendations to supervisor
  • Oversee and implement safety programs (i.e. food safety, sanitation programs, HACCP and GMPs)
  • Maintain compliance with all operating procedures including daily sanitation of processing room and equipment, pre-op sanitation check and operational sanitation programs
  • Facilitate all internal, second, third and regulatory agency auditing and facility inspections
  • Complete and submit corrective actions to auditing entity and Supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with company and customer finished product specs, special handling procedures, and production monitoring programs
  • Maintain facility Quality standards and compliance
  • Implement site specific protocols and procedures, referencing the THS Quality Manual/Food Safety Plan
  • Interact with customers on product development and problem solving projects
  • Manage internal systems complying with THS policies, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Manage the Finished Product Retain Evaluation Program, as well as the microbiological finished product testing, and environmental monitoring programs
  • Maintain open communication with Supervisor and THS Production Manager to ensure that finished product quality processes are maintained at all times
  • Communicate with Production Manager and Production Team for any related Quality Assurance issues, establish/improve/maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP's), and Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Liaison between internal operations, sales and customers related to any food safety, quality and food security inquires
  • Coordinate and manage the Pest Control program, verification of services, maps, applicator license, and chemical usage among others
  • Train all new production employees on CCPs, HACCP and following THS Food Safety Plan
  • Frequently visit production and packaging room during active operation to check CCPs/food safety parameters and ensure the process continues to meet and follow THS Food Safety Plan

Minimum Skills Required:

  • 2-5 years previous work experience in similar position
  • HACCP trained and/or certified training
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • SQF experience preferred
  • PCQI training preferred
