Online gallery / auctioneer specializing in ancient, pre-columbian & ethnographic art is looking to hire a FT digital photographer / photo editor who has an exceptionally keen eye for detail and can handle high volumes and tight deadlines. The photographer we seek takes pride in producing exceptionally beautiful, exceedingly accurate color photographs that capture the essence of the one-of-a-kind art we sell. To us, the images we present online are part of our image - high-end, beautiful, and compelling - and are as important as the art we sell.
Job details
30-40% digital photography, working with another FT photographer on daily photo assignments; the remaining 60-70% will be spent on photo editing. Must be able to demonstrate expertise in the editing process, including the use of light, composition, and ability to properly expose and edit to accurately reflect all pieces being offered for sale.
Required skills
Proficiency in Photoshop, Lightroom a must. We are extremely passionate / demanding about the quality of our photos, and being a master at retouching is of primary importance to succeed in this position.
Minimum of 2-3 years photography / editing experience, working with DSLR camera systems, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and studio lighting. Preferred experience would include working with fine jewelry, food, or 3-dimensional art – and will have a portfolio available that showcases your skills.
Prefer Windows-based, but will consider MAC OS.
