Job Title
VP of Operations
Company Name
Supernatural Inc.
Industry
Natural Foods/Products
Company Overview
Supernatural makes clean and plant-based baking ingredients for creative chefs, including natural food colors, soy-free sprinkles, and more.
Company Description

Colors rule. Sprinkles are magic. But a lot of baking ingredients make perfectly good treats cringeworthy, and not just kinda. Artificial colors, preservatives and other usual suspects have ties to cancer, ADHD, allergies and more. So it’s no wonder we wished for something better. In 2017 we launched Supernatural with a mission to reinvent the decorative baking category with products that were clean enough to be sold in natural markets, high-performing enough to meet the demands of professional chefs, and fun enough to make abandoning the old products a no-brainer. Today, we're on our way to making Supernatural the brand of choice for anyone who believes all ingredients, no matter how sprinkle-sized, matter. And we're just getting started.

Full Job Description

About us: Down to the smallest sprinkle, Supernatural is remixing pantry staples, replacing artificial colors, preservatives and other nasties with clean, plant-based alternatives. By removing controversial stuff like carcinogens, corn syrup and palm oil from your favorite food colors, sprinkles and more, we’re helping creative chefs shine without the toxic tradeoffs.

Position Overview: The VP of Operations will lead Supernatural’s day-to-day product manufacturing, order fulfillment, and inventory management, and build a stable and scalable operational backbone for our growing startup. You’ll be responsible for the everyday production of our growing family of baking products, play a key role in launching new innovations, and be the lead designer of our evolving operational foundation.

What you’ll do:

  • Own all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing, driving key metrics around cost, order fulfillment, and inventory control.
  • Lead production, communication, quality assurance and accountability with our existing manufacturing partners
  • Manage the end-to-end transportation of all raw and finished goods

  • Collaborate with Sales to set and manage inventory projections
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing to bring new products to market on a set schedule
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage and optimize the manufacturing P&L and identify cost-saving opportunities

Who you are:

  • 7+ years experience in manufacturing or manufacturing consulting, with direct experience in the food and beverage space
  • Motivated self-manager with ability to meet aggressive expectations with minimal oversight
  • A detail-oriented planner, problem solver, and master of moving parts
  • Proven ability to hold partners accountable and inspire above-and-beyond performance
  • An outstanding communicator
  • Startup experience strongly preferred
