Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Director of Operations role oversees the Supply Chain function at The Honest Stand.  This includes direct oversight of Sourcing/Procurement, Quality, Production, Warehousing, Distribution and Customer Service functions.  The Director must be able to operate at both the tactical and strategic levels, helping to resolve daily issues in each function as well as building the Operations plan for the coming 12-24 months. Food Safety and Employee Safety are key cornerstones of this position’s responsibilities and duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and the execution of the Operations Department’s Financial Plan/ Company budget
  • Directly oversee the current manufacturing facility
  • Collaborate with company Leadership Team members to identify key company development risks and opportunities
  • Identify department opportunities for efficiency and cost enhancement and lead action to realize improvements 
  • Develop direct reports in Production, Logistics, Maintenance and Quality by overseeing the cultivation of the department’s personnel; including coaching, counseling, hiring and terminating team members
  • Oversee and direct the department SOP Process 
  • Develop and manage the department’s  KPIs 
  • Set and manage tangible goals for each function to achieve as part of broader KPIs within the Operations department
  • Serve as Operations representative for New Product Development and Commercialization processes 
  • Oversee procurement 

Organizational Structure 

  • The Director of Operations has a total of 4 salaried direct reports (Production Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Maintenance Manager and Quality Assurance Manager) and serves as the back-up manager for the broader production teams.
  • The Director of Operations will report directly to the COO/Founder

Qualification Summary

  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Leadership experience, particularly in the Food Industry
  • Quality Assurance experience (GMP, SQF, PCQI etc.)
  • Project Management expertise
  • Previous experience working for CPG company between $5-50MM
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Strong team building skills and ability to motivate others 
  • Team-player mindset and willingness to collaborate 
  • Willingness to take responsibility and act independently
