Full Job Description
What You Will Do:
We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented VP of Operations to lead all supply chain functions including purchasing, co-packer management, inventory management, customer service, logistics, quality and food safety and development of new product innovation. 
 
This is a critical position in the company and carries a lot of responsibility including P&L accountability. This role will direct seamless execution of product and process quality to ensure the highest level of customer and consumer satisfaction. P&L responsibilities include: Manufacturing Margin, Warehousing & Distribution, Operations G&A . Position will be involved in all aspects of manufacturing, new product development, commercialization, as well as day-to-day operations. 
Key Responsibilities: 
Manufacturing/Quality: 
  • Optimize supply chain capabilities in co-packer production, procurement and sourcing
  • Negotiate sourcing contracts for vendors and co-packers
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and commercialize New Product Innovation and bring on new co-packer capabilities
  • Lead production planning, warehousing, distribution, logistics, and inventory management functions
  • Identify and execute margin improvement opportunities throughout the supply chain 
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production 
  • Develop and maintain useful raw material, packaging, and finished product specifications 
  • Continuously improve all aspects of product quality through regular GMP audits of copackers, vendors, and distributors 
  • Maintain compliance with nutritional labeling and product package claims 
  • Maintain/develop all required product certifications (e.g., Non-GMO Project, Fair Trade, Kosher, etc.) 
  • Develop and issue manufacturing instructions for new products and processes 
  • Oversee food safety and quality programs 
  • Ensure that flawless crisis management procedures are in place and tested 
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors, copackers, and customers on quality initiatives 
Supply Chain: 
  • Key member of S&OP process 
  • Oversee the order processing and fulfillment functions 
  • Manage inventory of all raw materials, packaging and finished goods 
  • Responsible for management of the company’s supply chain 
  • Ensure current suppliers have adequate capacity to meet company’s growth trajectory and capabilities to launch new products, anticipate capacity needs and capital requirements 
  • Seek out new suppliers to improve the reliability and efficiency of the Company’s supply chain 
Management: 
  • Manage and develop high performing teams including a Supply Chain Manager, Customer Service Manager and a Project Manager who supports innovation and customer service 
Who You Are:
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management, MBA preferred 
  • At least 10 years of industry supply chain experience with five years in a senior leadership capacity 
  • Experience developing and implementing supply chain capabilities with meaningful impact 
  • Strong knowledge of product development and commercialization of new items. 
  • Significant experience in logistics management 
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety and quality assurance experience with food manufacturers and a working knowledge of product development Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
