Position Summary: The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing Niman Ranch’s marketing and branding initiatives to drive awareness and promote sales. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is part of the Senior Leadership Team.
- The VP of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of Niman Ranch’s marketing strategy and branding initiatives.
- Works directly with the communications and public relations team to drive the brands message both internally and externally.
- Collaborates with the communication team to provide direction of the social media strategy, including social media campaigns and promotions.
- Oversees development and implementation of branded sales and marketing materials/tools including: Labels, POS, premiums, sell sheets, tradeshow booths, etc.
- Provide marketing support to both foodservice and retail distributor partners including staff trainings, training materials, POS materials, etc.
- Develop chef-focused marketing campaigns to heighten the brands’ cache within the culinary community.
- Develop retail programing that helps drive balanced sales and margin-up opportunities, including; retail ad placement, demos, promotional activities, etc.
- Negotiate rates and purchase print, radio and online ads.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of annual events.
- Develop and manage a 2M+ budget for all marketing activities and expenditures.
- Develop and execute the marketing strategy for new products from launch to sell through
- Represent Niman Ranch at conferences and networking events, establish and maintain key relationships with industry thought-leaders.
- Guide the day-to-day activities of the marketing team.
- Work cross-functionally with multiple departments including sales, operations, and finance.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of leadership experience in brand marketing.
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic marketing in the natural foods industry (meat industry experience is preferred.)
- Must possess a passion for natural and sustainably produced food, with a deep understanding of both retail and food service channels.
- A willingness to be a team player who is nimble and resourceful.
- Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier partners.
- Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
- Excellent and persuasive communicator.
- Demonstrated ability to work with wide range of stakeholders ranging from a farmer to a board room.
- Ability to travel 15-20%
