The VP of Finance will play a strategic role in helping the CPG industry’s leading venture-stage firms build their businesses by providing leadership and in-depth financial and analytical guidance. This person will operate with a high level of independence and play a leadership role within the Propeller services team. This role provides the ultimate balance of exposure to the industry’s top emerging brands and their investors, with a stable company that has demonstrated a decade of profitability and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deep understanding of the workings of the CPG industry including but not limited to: multiple channels & retailer landscape, manufacturing & co-packers, distributors & brokers, trade spend, etc.
- Solid experience in firms’ business operations and ability to set up systems and processes to ensure firm-wide controls
- Strong ability to understand the dynamics of an early stage growth firm in the CPG space, use critical thinking and enable the firm’s management to make strategic decisions
- Oversee financial planning/analysis, cash resource management & budgeting
- Work with clients to develop and execute company financial funding strategy
- Create financial models & provide ad-hoc financial analysis
- Oversee client relationship management and board reporting
- Draft management discussion and analysis reports
- Evaluate financial/accounting processes, propose improvements and oversee implementation
- Coach Directors and Managers in finalizing monthly closes
- Attend trade shows and participate on industry-specific panels
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- BA in accounting or finance or economics
- 10+ years of accounting and financial experience
