What You Will Do:
The Jackfruit Company (TJC) is seeking an ambitious, experienced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative operations professional for the position of Supply Chain Senior Manager/Director, reporting to the VP of Finance. The Supply Chain Senior Manager/Director is responsible for demand planning and purchasing, in close partnership with internal sales, finance, and sourcing team members and external manufacturing partners. The Supply Chain Senior Manager/Director manages TJC’s domestic supply chain, including port of arrival, Customs clearance, freight in, and warehousing, and drives supply chain efficiencies and cost savings. This role is an integral member of the team and will work cross-functionally with departmental leaders and external partners. This role is essential to TJC’s success and our ability to rapidly scale. 
ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Supply Chain Senior Manager/Director is the company’s internal leader in demand planning, purchasing, and domestic supply chain, focused on building relationships, driving efficiencies, and scaling our supply chain systems for exponential growth. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, assertive diplomatic tact, and strong desire and ability to collaborate, create alignment, and drive results across internal and external partners. 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  • Leads demand planning: forecasts inventory needs across multiple product lines and ingredient inputs with varying shelf lives, in close partnership with internal sales, finance, and sourcing team members and with external manufacturing partners 
  • Creates POs for all products; manages relationships with US-based manufacturing partners in collaboration with the head of R&D and commercialization 
  • Manages the import, Customs clearance, freight in, warehousing, and freight out supply chain from manufacturers through delivery to customers; manages and develops one direct report responsible for freight out 
  • Effectively manages relationships across TJC’s distribution systems, developing and seeking out strategic partnerships to lead the organization through periods of growth Analyzes customer base and distribution system to identify opportunities to reduce costs and to consolidate the company’s transit and storage systems 
  • Develops and maintains supply chain reporting and dashboarding 
  • Troubleshoots day-to-day product distribution and customer service issues as needed 
  • Ensures timely and accurate order-to-cash process, with support from direct report and part- time accounting coordinator 
  • Assists contracted accounting firm with month-end reconciliation of inventories at warehouses 
  • Assists the R&D, commercialization, and quality departments with follow up related to US manufacturing partners, as needed 
  • Works collaboratively with all departments to assess future needs and proactively provides support to execute company initiatives

Who You Are:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field, or MBA, preferred. 3+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, including at least 1 year in demand planning, required. Experience with quality control, co-packer management, and/or commercialization support, preferred. 10-15% domestic & international travel required. 
The candidate must have proven experience influencing and supporting executive-level leaders and programs and be equally able to roll up his/her sleeves to deliver great work, and to engage cross- functionally. The candidate must be adept at working in a fast-paced setting, have a strong sense of curiosity, and navigate ambiguity with ease. The ideal candidate is characterized by the following: 
  • Excellent demand planning and forecasting ability, encompassing multiple scenarios based on a high-growth environment with significant variabilities and uncertainties. 
  • Skilled in balancing between strategic thinking and executional know-how. Brings a vision to life with hands-on execution. 
  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills, with impeccable attention to detail. Identifies and asks the right questions to get to the right solutions and next steps. 
  • Experienced partnering with US manufacturers; excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with experience motivating external stakeholders to achieve common aims 
  • Experienced in high-growth and boot-strapped environments 
  • Positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, persistent, and dependable; builds team and thrives on effective collaboration 
  • Self-motivated and a doer with entrepreneurial spirit and excellent time-management skill; highly results-driven
