We have all the makings of a world-class brand – beautifully designed products that exceed customer expectations, a genuine origin story, passionate founders, product innovation rooted in the use of natural materials, and a loyal group of evangelists who believe in our mission.

Now we’re looking for a Manager of Social Media to bring our stories to life and engage with our customers and fans around the world. You’ll be responsible for crafting and maintaining Allbirds’s global social presence, collaborating with local social media managers, and making sure our digital channels reflect our brand and welcome people into our community, no matter where in the world they are.

This is an amazing opportunity to lead social for a world-class brand across multiple channels and markets. It requires strong writing skills, creativity, and an ability to work collaboratively across teams (and oceans) to bring the Allbirds brand to life. 

What does the job entail?

  • Master the Allbirds voice and write engaging copy for social channels
  • Create and execute weekly social calendars that are innovative and push the envelope of what’s been done on social
  • Collaborate with Digital Content and Experiences manager to develop diverse channel strategy across all active social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) and ideate creative ways for Allbirds to have a presence on channels that we’re not currently active on
  • Be the day-to-day point person for our International Country Managers for all things social – preparing toolkits and collaboration standards for launches, helping global teams master our brand voice, and adapt their social strategy where needed
  • Work with our creative team to create content that resonates with our social audience and shares brand/product attributes and benefits in a unique way
  • Lead in-house photoshoots for social content
  • Work with local Social Media Managers to ensure global channels reflect our brand standards of content and that influencers that resonate in their market
  • Analyze and distribute reports on social media performance to internal team and regularly make recommendations, updates and improvements based on findings
  • Identify and build relationships with key digital influencers and tastemakers, and engage them to help execute partnerships that amplify key marketing moments 

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • 5-7 years of experience in a Social Media/Content Marketing role, ideally at a consumer and/or lifestyle brand
  • International experience, comfortable working with teams around the world
  • Exceptionally strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and information clearly and write in various styles for diverse audiences
  • Expert knowledge of, and personal participation in, social media
  • A can-do and collaborative approach to ideation and execution, and a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves
  • Experience working on photoshoots – art directing, producing and concepting
  • Strong existing relationships with key digital influencers and tastemakers

More practical skills needed:

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Expert in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Social copywriting skills
  • Art Direction experience
  • Experience using Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Opal or other social media management platforms
