The Pro’s Closet Inc. (TPC) is the world’s largest retailer of previously-owned bikes and cycling gear. We purchase bikes and components from manufacturers, retailers, and individuals and work alongside bike shops to help customers trade in their old bikes for a new one. The Human Resource department is responsible for recruiting, screening, interviewing and placing workers. They also handle employee relations, payroll, benefits, and training. You are expected to assist the Director of People in these areas as well as general office work, including but not limited to supply orders, event preparation, filing, etc.Â
The position calls for someone who can maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Working individually and as part of a team, extended standing, and some heavy lifting of 25 lbs or more may be expected. Maintaining a positive, helpful attitude is imperative in this position. Flexibility and a willingness to help in any way possible are needed in our small, dynamic team environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing incoming mail
- Creating and distributing documents
- Maintaining Calendars for team
- Organizing and Scheduling Interviews
- Participating in recruitment efforts
- Posting job ads and organizing resumes and job applications
- Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
- Preparing new employee files
- Periodically checking that all common spaces are clean and orderly and stepping in when necessary
- Manage and maintain files, records, and correspondence for meetings
- Type documents, drafts, and reports as directed by Execs. (transcribing meetings, phone calls, etc.)
- Arrange schedules for meeting space and conference rooms
- Set up, break down, organize, and maintain conference rooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms
- Assist with travel and expense reports
- Update and maintain internal staff contact lists
- Perform work related errands as requested such as going to the post office for stamps (as directed by accounting), office depot for supplies, etc.Â
- Maintaining office equipment as needed
- Coffee ordering and equipment maintenance
- Potentially Supply Ordering/Kanban (in conjunction with Accounting)
- Lunch and food pick up
- Lunch set up and take down
- Ensuring kitchen is clean after lunch is eatenÂ
- Organizing weekly, monthly and quarterly company events
- Participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness
- Monitor, track and report on feedback and online reviews
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- A positive and professional attitude and a consistent work ethic, must be self-motivated and work well alone as well as on a team in a shop/warehouse and office atmosphere.
