We’re looking for a merchant – an energetic self-starter who will partner cross-functionally across brand, e-commerce, product, and finance – to drive our merchandising strategies. They will serve as the basis for achieving financial sales objectives for the company. You are a creative thinker who is willing to take calculated risks, and you have the ability to source and foster new opportunities to grow the business. You love product (beauty and wellness is your jam), deeply understand consumer trends and behavior, and are transformative in everything that you do.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain collaborative and proactive relationships with brand (creative), product (physical and digital), and finance (and inventory) teams to be the voice of our customer, driving cross-channel alignment & sales optimization
- Drive product development process from concept to shelf – this includes defining product assortment and supporting go-to-market strategy, collaborating with brand and product teams to build strong short- and long-term growth plans, and setting pricing strategy
- Own P&L for new products and evaluate product assortment effectiveness, adding/dropping them accordingly
- Support marketing strategies (website, email, social, paid) for key new product launches and other company product initiatives
- Optimize how to bring products to life to best meet customer needs
- Proactively contribute to key strategic digital product initiatives to drive the business
- Own accountability for how physical product is represented across all channels
- Analyze product performance via reporting tools (Looker), providing insights to relevant cross-functional partners, and recommend adjustments to optimize sales
- Stay current with trends and competition – you are the market expert at True Botanicals
About you:
- Experienced buyer/merchandiser/planner with at least 5 years in the ecommerce space
- Curious, a go-getter, take ownership and responsibility for your work
- Love tackling problems and using your analytical skills to find solutions
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional groups
