Full Job Description

The Pet Sustainability Coalition is seeking a purpose driven, energetic, and professional sustainability assistant manager to add to their team serving 100+ companies collaborating toward a better future for pets, people, and planet. This is a full-time position based in Boulder, Colorado.

Working with a multi-skilled, enthusiastic team, the candidate will ideally have experience implementing corporate sustainability strategies, consulting, supply chain, packaging, energy, employee engagement techniques, or environmental science. The candidate must have a strong interest in sustainability and relationship management. The ability to develop and communicate ideas convincingly will be seen as a significant strength of any potential candidate. Knowledge and experience working with supply chains and/or packaging systems would be a beneficial.

Our ideal candidate will be a team player who can work with others in a multi-disciplinary team, feels comfortable wearing multiple hats, and is seeking an opportunity for purpose driven work. The person should be able to develop, and steward relationships with diverse members and provide a range of services tailored to their unique needs.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Based on industry assessments and best practices, analyze and provide recommendations to members on environmental and social sustainability-related corporate programs aligned with members’ missions, priorities, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and support member engagement and provide on-going support on a variety of sustainability performance management areas including: supply chain management, employee engagement, packaging initiatives, and more.
  • Lead and support project implementation for multiple members to track and work towards meeting environmental and social sustainability goals and initiatives.
  • Preparing and presenting professional recommendations, reports, and results to members and team.
  • Occasional travel will be required to client sites and trade shows

Additional Job Functions:

  • Composition of case-studies, industry reports, and articles related to implementation projects to communicate replication, scalability, and successes to larger industry audience
  • Composition of slide show presentations for external and internal audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of corporate sustainability experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in sustainability, energy, or environmental science
  • Attention to detail, creative problem solving, and desire for meaningful work
  • Strong coordination and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in sustainable supply chain design or sustainable packaging
  • Experience in consulting or corporate sustainability
  • Knowledge of sustainability assessment systems (LEED, Higg, CDP, etc.)
  • Preference given to local candidates
  • Experience working with senior business professionals
  • Ability to multi-task and shift focus of work throughout the day

Pay & Perks

  • Salary: $50,000-$60,000
