Wholesome Sweeteners is the nation’s leading importer and seller of USDA Organic, Fair Trade Certified™, and sustainably-produced natural sweeteners including various types of sugar, agave nectars, and honeys, as well as natural non-caloric sweeteners like allulose, erythritol, and stevia. We are the only company that offers consumers, retailers, and manufacturers a complete range of natural sweetener options. Wholesome Sweeteners was established in 2001 and is privately-owned with the Arlon Group as the majority investor since 2012.
The Wholesome Sweeteners headquarters is in Sugar Land, Texas. In January 2020, we opened the Wholesome Innovation Center in Broomfield, Colorado. This is the home of our marketing and innovation teams, as well as a hub for our sales team. We have 8 folks on our sales team who are located in various locations around the country. Currently, we have an opening for a National Accounts Sales Director who can be located in Broomfield, Colorado or remotely (ideally near at least one major customer).
We are looking for a self-motivated, goal-oriented sales professional with a passion for building partnerships with retailers and experience working in natural foods. Ideal candidates will have a general manager mindset, running their accounts like a business they own. This role reports to the Vice President of Consumer Sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver profitable sales growth for assigned accounts
- Build effective relationships with retailer buying teams and/or broker teams in order to deliver distribution, assortment, pricing and merchandising objectives
- Develop joint business plans with retailers that multi-year goals vs. individual item selling
- Understand the latest trends and capitalizes on business opportunities that effectively grow the business
- Work with marketing, innovation, and other internal resources to deliver on retailer-specific growth initiatives
- Provide accurate sales forecast for all assigned customers and participate in S&OP process
- Analyze the business in relation to the retailer, the market, the category and then use this knowledge to develop sales plans to achieve growth and profit objectives
- Evaluate and conducts post audits on all promotional events to better understand if program objectives were achieved
- Manage and report on assigned financial budgets
- Identify deviations in plans and provide corrective actions when required
- Complete all administrative tasks including but not limited to expense reports, pricing templates, deal sheets, forecasts, new item sheets and sales reports
Education/Experience:
- 8+ years sales management experience in CPG industry
- Must have experience working in natural foods categories
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven success building partnerships with retailers, including category management and pipeline planning
- Experience working with brokers is a plus
- Strength in working with cross-functional teams from remote location
- Ability to travel up to 40%
