Full Job Description

In this hands-on position as Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer, you will report to the CEO and be a critical part of the Leadership Team.  This position requires the ability to simultaneously wear multiple hats and is responsible for leading Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Information Technology functions with a team of six direct reports. 

The ideal candidate for this position is analytical, collaborative, and results-driven, and will build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. The CFO/COO should be equally comfortable working through strategy and details, with the flexibility to jump in at the level required for the task at hand. The CFO/COO will possess strong financial and business modeling and analysis skills and be an excellent verbal and written communicator. Minimal domestic and international travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Business Strategy
    • With the leadership team, develop and execute on the company’s business strategy that elevates and defends the Company’s market leadership position
    • Create and lead the planning and budgeting process and track and monitor performance against the budget
    • Evaluate, analyze and collaborate on key strategic initiatives
  • Financial Planning and Business Analysis
    • Oversee and generate monthly financial reports and complete analysis of financial results.
    • Monitor key business metrics and communicate trends and performance to executive team and parent company
    • Maintain detailed cash flow projections to ensure cash flow optimization
  • Accounting, Systems & Administration
    • Oversee and review all financial closing activities including month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements
    • Maintain accurate financial records in U.S. GAAP, IFRS and Italian management reporting formats
    • Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained
    • Lead external audit and manage tax relationship to ensure tax optimization, proper filing of tax returns and legal and regulatory compliance
    • Manage the company’s insurance programs
  • Supply Chain Leadership
    • Oversee demand planning, forecasting and purchasing to ensure healthy inventory levels are maintained
    • Manage relationships with third party manufacturer and Asian suppliers, including price and contract negotiations
  • Human Resources
    • Administer and enforce the company’s HR policies and procedures
    • Govern company’s 401k plan to ensure compliance with applicable laws
    • Analyze and review employee compensation and benefit packages to adequately balance the need to ensure market competitiveness with cost effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading and managing finance and accounting organizations
  • Strong financial and business modeling and analysis experience required
  • Comfortable with continuous, accurate cash flow forecasting and solid balance sheet management
  • Consumer products experience is strongly preferred
  • MBA in finance or related field preferred
  • Experience with SAP or comparable large ERP system knowledge required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards required
  • International experience a plus
