ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

The Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which offers a free sober active community to individuals who have suffered from a substance use disorder and to those who choose a sober life. Using a peer support model, we help members heal and rebuild their lives while also striving to eliminate stigma around recovery. Activities offered include group fitness, climbing, hiking, boxing, running, yoga, road & mountain biking, and strength training. Through traditional fundraising strategies and revenue ventures, The Phoenix is able to provide free programs for anyone with at least 48 hours of continuous sobriety. The Phoenix currently operates in 45 communities across 24 states.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Phoenix is looking for a Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing Manager (dependent on experience) who can help us with our rapid expansion across the country and assist in developing a long-term, sustainable strategy for increasing our reach and impact. This position will oversee aspects of marketing for The Phoenix and work with the Chief Marketing Officer in developing innovative ways to increase awareness. A strong connection to The Phoenix Mission and commitment to leading by example are critical to this position. The Phoenix is a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment requiring employees to be flexible and adaptable to ever-changing situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and lead execution of overall brand efforts to drive audience reach and engagement within existing and new markets/communities
• Project-manage brand and marketing related projects including overseeing external vendors, internal cross-functional teams, and annual budgets
• Track and analyze marketing analytics to continually expand reach and increase impact of programs
• Develop strategy for, oversee, and monitor all aspects of our digital assets, including website and social channels
• Work closely with various internal teams to provide appropriate tools, materials, and data as needed
• Oversee creation and distribution of all public content including Phoenix online store, materials, content, etc.
• Identify opportunities to engage with potential Team Members, donors, and partners regarding recovery, strengthening communities, or any of the athletic disciplines in which The Phoenix participates
• Be an ambassador for The Phoenix at all times
• Some travel required
• Fulfill other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business preferred
• 5 - 10 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in brand management, marketing, or project management disciplines
• High levels of strategic and critical thinking, organization, and the ability to quickly adapt to change
• Demonstrated writing, editing, communications skills
• Detail-focused mindset and ability to independently drive projects forward with urgency
• Experience using social media platforms, including paid advertising and analytics
• Knowledge and consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
• Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences
• Ability to work effectively across teams, as both leader and significant contributor
• Experience managing and advising direct reports
• Ability to use standard office equipment and computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and email
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people from all walks of life
• Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, and integrity
• Ability to travel
