However, Wild Planet isn’t solely focused on providing delicious food. We’re working to make a positive difference in the biodiversity of the oceans. We use selective harvest methods like pole & line to minimize bycatch and environmental disruption. We also encourage the consumption of a broad array of seafood so that people eat lower in the food chain. Both of these actions help to preserve and regenerate the oceanic environment. We also partner with dedicated, small-scale fishing boats and canneries around the world who are experts at their craft and whose work drives the local economy.

The Marketing Director is responsible for leading and/or being a key stakeholder in all 360 -degree communications through the purchasing funnel. This person will develop and lead an integrated communications strategy across multiple touchpoints, but will have a digital-first mindset with the goals of generating demand and building brand equity. The Marketing Director will play a pivotal role in accelerating Wild Planet's already strong growth trajectory. This position will report directly to the SVP of Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a Wild Planet brand guardian, partnering with agencies and other Marketing colleagues to ensure representation of the brand & related messaging is consistent and on strategy.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the brand’s long-term growth strategy, ensuring flawless execution of consumer driven initiatives.
- Play a leadership role in the development & execution of annual marketing plans.
- Manage a variety of marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, trial and loyalty.
- Through leadership and partnership with creative agencies, bring the brand’s “Big Idea” to life with content that is insightful, disruptive and applicable across traditional and digital media platforms.
- Develop an overarching digital strategy that aligns work being done across the brand’s .com, social, email and display activities in order to create a powerful performance marketing ecosystem.
- Oversee paid and owned media strategies and activations; lead the brand’s PR initiatives.
- Oversee the brand’s social media strategy and work with agencies to develop a thriving and engaged online community.
- Establish and activate against a learning roadmap in order to gain compelling and actionable consumer insights that will inform brand communication.
- Manage projects within budget and forecast spend for future periods.
- Actively gather and analyze insights, trends and data for our category as well as the larger natural/health & wellness food category.
- Manage, inspire and guide the development of direct reports.

Education and/or Experience
- BA/BS in Marketing or Business – MBA preferred
- 5+ years of breakthrough, high-impact brand building and communications experience (natural and/or purpose-driven CPG brands preferred)
- Demonstrated success leading digital first, performance marketing campaigns with a clear understanding of media touchpoints
- Experience leading creative agencies through the development of insight-based creative that drove results
- Proven track record of people leadership and development of direct reports
