Brief Summary of Job
Full Job Description

Purpose: 

To support Moving to End Sexual Assault’s (MESA), a program of Mental Health Partners, community engagement initiatives with a focus to generate revenue for the MESA program and to raise awareness about sexual assault. 

Job Summary: 

This position will lead MESA’s efforts in raising awareness about sexual assault and MESA’s programs, and help to secure financial resources for the team.   This position develops and implements community engagement events and solicits donations from foundations, individuals, and businesses.  This position coordinates with Mental Health Partners’ (MHP) marketing team to cross-promote events and coordinates  communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and coordinates activities and events to develop philanthropic support and awareness for MESA and MHP
  • Collaborates with the MHP marketing team and MESA Director on strategy and direction for MESA specific activities/events
  • Leads the coordination of event sponsorship
  • Coordinates MESA's social media presence
  • Maintains the MESA donor database and completes donor acknowledgement correspondence and tracking
  • Develops and leads the MESA volunteer Fundraising Committee
  • Coordinates production of the MESA program newsletter and other publications and marketing materials to support fundraising efforts
  • Participates in outreach activities in diverse community settings
  • Meets defined individual and department goals, activity metrics and Key Performance Indicators
  •  Promotes, supports and demonstrates MHP’s and MESA’s mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adheres to policies, procedures, Compliance Plan and Standards of Conduct on a day to day basis
  •  Effectively interacts and communicates with other MHP staff/clients/customers/partners/etc.
  •  Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform other essential functions of the job
  •  Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/License/Certification:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least two years of professional experience in fundraising, communications and outreach required
  • Previous experience in non-profit, healthcare or human services preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of behavioral health and sexual assault issues
  • Commitment to achieving goals and quality results
  • Ability to accurately prioritize and manage multiple tasks with superior follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills including use of MS Office products and ability to learn new tools as needed: experience with Donor Perfect, Constant Contact and social media a plus
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information and prepare convincing and compelling proposals, reports, letters, and other materials
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including ability to collaborate and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, take initiative, and follow through with tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Evening and weekend availability as needed
  • Must have their own transportation to travel throughout Boulder County (MESA does not serve Broomfield County)
