- Business Track Project: Working with your host business track at Schwab provides a meaningful and valuable experience to translate classroom learning into real business projects.
- Intern Cohort Project: Partner with other interns to brainstorm, discuss learning experiences, and present solutions.
- Learning Activities: Participate in facilitated training, team discussions and events, individual assessments and activities, senior leader meetings, and on-the-job training.
- Dedicated Intern Leader: Receive regular feedback from your leader, participate in career-related discussions, and provide your own feedback.

Because interns are considered a primary pipeline for full-time opportunities, every intern candidate must be eligible for full-time employment upon graduation and must also meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled in a current undergraduate or graduate program tracking to graduate between December 2021 and May/June 2022
- Ability to work full time and be on-site at assigned Schwab location during the 9-week program (June 7 to August 6)
- Have specific skills as specified by the hosting Business Track

Marketing
Charles Schwab’s Marketing organization manages the Schwab brand, develops impactful advertising that promotes our products & services and creates the marketing touch points and communications that our clients interact with across a variety of channels. Within this marketing track, interns will be placed under Marketing teams ranging from Brand & Advertising to Strategy, Technology, Efficiencies Marketing, to Content & Client Marketing. Responsibilities, depending on the team, could include developing campaigns and communications, managing marketing projects and building touch points through marketing platforms/technology.
What you'll do:
Institutional Services Marketing
Intern will provide marketing support, operations and analysis for our B2B businesses, including Advisor Services (independent third party advisors). The intern will support our website and content strategies and initiatives, using data, and client insights to deliver valuable digital content experiences for our advisors.
The ideal candidate is interested in opportunities to work with internal and external creative agencies, collaborating closely with internal technical development and publishing teams, project managing results and creative reviews, and exposure to website page designs and content development.
Strategy, Technology, Efficiencies Marketing Team
The Strategy, Technology, Efficiencies Marketing (STEM) team is responsible for optimizing technology, processes, and resources to drive innovation, efficiency & scale that enables the organization to accelerate growth. We define success based on enabling our people to do their best work – feeling empowered to work efficiently with the right tools and processes, and scalable ways to collaborate and share findings across teams in support of delivering for our clients.
The ideal candidate is interested in taking a holistic view across the marketing organization and helping to influence and shape opportunities to accelerate growth, drive increased scale and efficiency in order to optimize collaboration and productivity. This role will work closely with cross functional teams including technology development teams, project management office, and Retail & Institutional marketing partners. The intern will participate in TDA integration planning focused on content delivery and management of assets. Additionally, the intern will develop and curate content for the intranet site supporting Marketing Technology, Strategy, and Efficiency projects. Strong project management, communication and organizational skills will be strengths for an ideal candidate, who will have an opportunity to interact with colleagues and partners both within marketing as well as across multiple functions, and will engage with programs/processes critical in delivering against business objectives.
Retail Acquisition
The Retail Acquisition Marketing team is responsible for creating and activating marketing programs that increase new to firm client and asset growth and new assets among retail investors.
The ideal candidate is seeking breadth of exposure to a world class marketing organization, and possesses an interest in understanding consumer insights, marketing and sales alignment and the impact of marketing on key business drivers. This role will work closely with cross functional teams including brand, venture marketing, social media, traditional media, advertising, business development, sales, and creative agencies. This is an opportunity to understand and influence the entire consumer experience that surrounds a marketing program.
The intern will develop and implement a recommendation for a multi-channel marketing program that focuses on measurable goals for acquiring new retail clients and assets. Examples of programs include: developing a unique high net worth marketing event series, creating a new client experience strategy, improving a promotional campaign, or launching of a new product/service.
Employee Communications
The Employee Communications team helps employees across the organization understand and align to the business strategy and provides information necessary for employees to do their job. We provide counsel, coaching and support to leaders and business partners about how to use communications to achieve business outcomes and drive pride in our culture. We create and execute communications programs to support major business initiatives. And, we help shape the company’s reputation as a great place to work.
The ideal candidate is seeking exposure to a world class communications function and possesses an interest in organizational business communications and the science of winning hearts and minds of employees through communications.
This role will work closely with enterprise communications teams to shape the employee experience by:
- Develop critical communications plans to support a variety of business plans that will use a mix of communications channels
- Participate in our Employer of Choice campaign team and develop content to advance our brand with employees and the public through internal and external channels
- Counsel business partners on their presence and communications activities to help maintain and enhance the reputation and credibility of company leaders, at both the corporate and business unit levels
- Recommend and execute a mix of effective communications channels, which may include speeches and presentations, high-impact internal meetings (webcasts, open Q&As, or calls), leadership messages (written, audio, or video), feedback tools, and social media content.
What you have:
- Undergraduate or Master's program with majors including Marketing, Communications, Business Management, Information Technology
- Recognized ability to build strong personal relationships and trust across large teams of diverse skills and experience
- Ability to map out large scale projects and schedule work accordingly
- Understanding of consumer relations and product offerings
- Strong PowerPoint skills
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, paired with being self-motivated with solid judgment, and ability to think clearly and form a point of view
