The Role:
The Sanitation Technician cleans and maintains production equipment utilizing basic mechanical and technical skills to achieve cleanliness suitable for food production while practicing proper procedures in accordance with company, GMP and safety requirements.Â
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain production equipment, conveyors, fermentation vessels, ovens, refrigeration units and packaging equipment according to sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP)
- Assemble and disassemble equipment and associated parts manually and/or with tools
- Operate equipment via touchscreen controls, VFD or manually for purposes of cleaning
- Correctly, accurately, and safely handle and measure chemicals and cleaning aids
- Understand and complete daily and weekly procedure checklists
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hygienic workspace through general cleaning tasks
Qualifications:
- Background in food or fermentation in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and SSOPs
- LOTO experience
- Familiarity with tools
- Enthusiasm to support and contribute to the overall goals of the company
- Take initiative and able to work independently
- Complete tasks on time
- Ability to communicate well with other employees and management
- Follow safety protocols and awareness of potential hazards
- Responsible and well-informed decision making
Requirements:
- All employees must practice good hygiene and wear clothing that is clean and in good condition. (No cut offs, shorts, or sleeveless shirts)
- Employees are required to wear non-slip safety toe shoes
- All employees are to wear company provided lab coats/smocks, food gloves, hair restraints and safety glasses while in the food processing areas
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach
