Full Job Description
Trimble is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, self-directed UX designer with strong interests and capabilities in the research and design engaging user experiences.
Our team is focused on promoting a product management process that is data driven and iterative. You will be participating in up-front user research, product and concept brainstorming with stakeholders, evaluations of concepts and designs and closely work with your development team to deliver a solution that serves customers across a number of construction personas.
The role supports a global product suite, customers, and stakeholders from around the world. The challenge is to research and understand the various user groups and needs feeding from a platform product and creating compelling user experiences that are optimized for each. You will analyze the use of existing products and utilize insights from this to drive formation of transformative new solutions. The design will be based on an established pattern library and the role can draw on the collaborative support of an existing design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with product management to determine research and design needs
- Create research plans, determine best methods, create research materials, recruit and conduct research
- Collaborate on persona development and customer journey maps
- Be involved upfront and have your voice heard as it relates to user experience, interaction and visual design. You are the expert, so bring your ideas to the table!
- Work with product and other stakeholders to create concepts and prototypes for evaluation
- Evaluate prototypes and concepts and support PM in developing a product roadmap
- Develop wireframes and high-fidelity design
- Usability testing of designs and prototypes
- Work closely with development to document designs and oversee implementation fidelity
Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate -
- Has two or more years of user experience design exposure for software and web applications
- Has experience with planning and designing, and conducting user research using a range of methods
- Has a passion for involving stakeholders into the user experience design process
- Possesses a broad yet detailed understanding of web UI standards, responsive design frameworks and usability
- Has strong working knowledge of modern UI/UX design toolchain, e.g. Sketch, Invision, Axure, Adobe, Realtimeboard, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or associated design tools
- Experience conducting user testing and/or analytical research
- Exhibits prowess and emits an infectious enthusiasm in fast-paced, collaborative team environments. Loves a good whiteboard session
- Is adaptable to evolving processes and has experience working alongside development teams who practice in an agile, dual-track agile and/or design sprint methodologies
Additional Skills/Experience
- Mobile app development experience
- Experience with the construction industry or construction industry tools and software
- Motion design ability or experience using animation to educate, engage and delight
