TalkBox seeks an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team as Staff Accountant. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in a startup manufacturing environment, and will be willing to take on a broad range of tasks while working with our team. The right individual for this position will be flexible, willing to stretch themselves personally and take on a variety of tasks that will help to further the growth of the business.

The Staff Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting activities, including invoicing, inventory management, payroll and payroll tax filings, sales tax filings, AP and AR. This position reports to the President of the Company, and will assist with development of internal policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

The position is likely to start as part-time, but to become full time as TalkBox continues its growth.Â

Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting functions in bookkeeping software – invoicing, AP, AR, journal entries
- Manage payroll and payroll tax filings
- Manage inventory and associated accounting
- Manage sales tax and sales tax filings
- Manage cash flow forecasting
- Create and maintain management dashboards with KPIs
- Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts
- Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review
- Manage and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding tax filings, and reporting as needed
- Additional duties as needed
Who You Are:
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
- Ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in a related field
- Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite (experience with Access a plus), Gsuite of collaborative tools, and online accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise required and ZohoBooks/ZohoSuite or Xero preferred)
- Clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders including management, vendors, and other team members.
- Analytical, data-driven decision making a must: ability to synthesize data and construct spreadsheets that support and inform recommended actions to management.
- Experience with tracking software for inventory and expense tracking (ie. ZohoInventory, Expensify, etc)
- Experience with manufacturing preferred
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
