As Accounting Manager at Made in Nature, you will be responsible for all general accounting responsibilities as well as manage the financial needs of the company, including A/P, A/R, preparing P&L statements, balance sheet, and other relevant financial statements. You will also oversee the accounting software (currently Quickbooks with a planned conversion to a new ERP, Just Food) and make recommendations for improvements. You will not be afraid to dive into the detail and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented growth environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage all accounting operations, including GL, A/P, A/R, inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed asset accounting, and revenue recognition. 
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing process accurately and efficiently, reviewing journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations 
• Be the accounting subject matter expert as it relates to inventory reconciliation including creating/modifying BOM’s, supporting inventory costing analyses, etc.
• Prepare reports that summarize company business activity (financial statements, cash flow forecasts, etc.) 
• Manage a staff of 3 employees – staff accountant, accounts payable, and accounts receivable 
• Assist the Controller in the year-end audit procedures by coordinating with the audit team, properly assigning audit tasks among the team, and ensuring timely audit completion
• Assist in cash flow projections by timely forecasting cash inflows and outflows and make required recommendations, as necessary
• Developing, documenting, and improving accounting policies and procedures 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting 
• At least 5 years of progressive Accounting experience 
• CPA or Graduate degree in Accounting is a plus 
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while also managing employees in remote locations
• Experience with Quickbooks a huge plus as well as experience working with ERP systems  
• Experience with full cycle accounting, including inventory and COGS accounting 
• Food production and/or consumer packaged goods experience preferred
