Full Job Description

We are Origin, an early stage startup based in Denver, Colorado building modern business tools for outdoor and adventure tour operators. We have big plans, and we’re looking for an extremely passionate, talented and driven Director of Sales to join our founding team. You will sell and help implement our booking and payment platform which forms the foundation of Origin’s business. A successful candidate will have relevant industry expertise, proven sales ability, and a network of travel industry contacts. You're joining us for the adventure and will help build the company from the ground up. This position is remote.

The Director of Sales will help ensure new and prospective platform customers have the best sales experience throughout the implementation of our web-based platform. This exceptional experience will include seeking customer feedback and suggestions to further expand the feature set of our platform and improve our processes. As part of the sales process, you will be responsible for addressing outbound and inbound requests as we help adventure tour businesses bring their operations online.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand the differences between Origin and other online booking platforms to effectively communicate with users.

  • Use phone calls, email, social media, and networking methods to build relationships with potential users.

  • Provide engaging product demos and walkthroughs.

  • Understand prospective user’s individual trip booking challenges, and work to resolve their problems with the Origin platform.

  • Research new operators and outfitters with the intention of adding them to the pre-existing pipeline.

  • Develop acquisition strategies to generate new business opportunities.

  • Inspire tour operators to think differently about their business, and think big.

  • Provide insights and recommendations about new industry trends.

  • Overcome objections and competition in the sales process.

  • Identify gaps and solutions in the product.

  • Document client pain points and educate the team.

  • Be available to the product & engineering team for roadmap and feature discussions.

About you:

  • 4+ years of Software or SaaS sales experience.

  • Experience in the travel/tourism industry is a plus!

  • A commanding desire to learn, succeed and grow in tech sales.

  • A passion for travel, adventure and technology.

  • Superior communications and negotiation skills.

  • Tenacious attitude and ability to self-motivate and drive toward success.
