The Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which offers a free sober active community to individuals who have suffered from a substance use disorder and to those who choose a sober life. Using a peer support model, we help members heal and rebuild their lives while also striving to eliminate stigma around recovery. Activities offered include group fitness, climbing, hiking, boxing, running, yoga, road & mountain biking, and strength training. Through traditional fundraising strategies and revenue ventures, The Phoenix is able to provide free programs for anyone with at least 48 hours of continuous sobriety. The Phoenix currently operates in 45 communities across 24 states.

Full Job Description

You excel at brand expression through the creation of visual assets. You're an entrepreneurial individual who is willing to test creative ideas that ladder up to a larger vision and drive organizational impact. You have a successful track record of stewarding brand consistency at a national level. You're passionate about recovery from substance use and believe in the power of community. The Phoenix is looking to scale our national impact and has a goal of reaching over one million people by 2025. As our in-house creative leader, you'll contribute to this growth by acting as our primary in-house creative resource and expert.

This role will ideally be located in Denver, Colorado (other locations will be considered depending on the candidate) and will be responsible for creative execution across all visual assets nationally, owning the brand look and feel and evolving its expression as needed. This role will also drive efficiencies managing creative needs, so a process mindset will be key. Effective project management, being self-driven, team collaboration, and innovative thinking will be hallmarks of the position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead creative execution, ensuring developed assets and campaigns resonate with their intended audiences and achieve the desired impact
  • Own the brand personality, voice, tone, and narrative across all brand touchpoints
  • Create visual assets including areas such as marketing campaigns, social media, one-sheeters, apparel, email content, collateral decks, BOD and annual reports, multimedia, and copy
  • Oversee and support organizational compliance to existing brand design guidelines
  • Collaborate with marketing and regional teammates to scope and complete design requests
  • Drive breakthrough ideas for design and content creation and follow current trends
  • Establish simple processes to drive workflow efficiencies for inbound requests

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years' relevant work history
  • Experience as a designer in-house or at a marketing agency
  • Excellent organizational skills, as well as ability to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts

PREFERENCES

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Copywriting and/or video production skills
