HPC is about to debut a sister brand and open two additional scoop shops within the next few months. Additionally, our wholesale business is rapidly expanding. In order to accommodate this growth, we are moving into a significantly larger production facility, and we need some help running it.Production Manager Summary:
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our manufacturing operation. We are looking for a great human to oversee our team of production personnel in order to meet or exceed established objectives in the following areas: safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction… and deliciousness. You will be responsible for training, career development, discipline, and performance appraisal. You will manage the area operations and budget for ice cream production. You will also be responsible for anticipating and fulfilling distributors’ orders and maintaining a good working relationship with the relevant account managers.

Job Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations for the manufacturing of High Point Creamery’s ice cream products.
- Use inventory reports and forecasting models to make and implement production plans.
- Manage necessary inventory levels that vary based on season.
- Interpret profit and loss statements.
- Be the key contact for distributors and other wholesale clients.
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills including writing emails, Google Sheets, Excel.
- Supervise all production facility employees either directly or indirectly through their line supervisors.
- Communicate expectations frequently and effectively.
- Invite input from staff and model positive approaches to problem resolution for employees.
- Model teamwork for direct reports and other HPC team members.
- Embrace the philosophy of continuous improvement.
- Hire, train, develop and evaluate employees. Address employee performance problems promptly and effectively.
- Test and monitor production processes.
- Look for opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety in our manufacturing processes.
- Follow and enforce a HARPC Program.
- Monitor prescribed food safety handling standards and immediately correct deficiencies.
- Respond to FDA or state-initiated audits, inspections, reports and correspondence.
- Develop and oversee product development, recipes, and processes.
Job Requirements4 years of experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of dairy processes and systems.
- Experience with GMP’s, Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional organization skills in maintaining and adapting production schedules to meet customer demands.
- Safety and mechanical knowledge.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Proven leadership skills with progressive addition of responsibility and authority.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- May need to work on the floor and must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time and lift 50 pounds.
- A self-starter, showing initiative in addressing problems within the scope of their authority.
