Position Overview
The Commercialization/Process Engineer manages and leads the evaluation, review and manufacturing plan for packaged food products including capital evaluation, operational requirements and technical feasibility within the company. Â
 Essential Functions
- Leads technical evaluation of new projects and products to determine fit into existing platforms and systems
- Investigate and develop manufacturing solutions across a wide range of food products and applications
- Develops, configures and optimizes manufacturing processes from inception, through to start up and certification
- Provide manufacturing inputs to overall costing model Failure Modes and Effect Analysis’s
- Manages commercialization projects to assure all deliverables are achieved including safety, food safety, quality, productivity and budgeting
- Supports plant operations through innovation, technical expertise and continuous improvement efforts
- Supports plant maintenance with technical troubleshooting
- Participates in the development, implementation and coordination of capital budgets to purchase, improve or maintain equipment and processes as needed
- Leads and manages capital projects as needed including new equipment/process installations, plant layout and design, manufacturing automation projects and maintenance related projects

 Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Food Process, Industrial)
- 5+ more years in a food and/or beverage process manufacturing environment
- Experience in process engineering and design including creating PFDs
- Experience in commercializing new food processing technology and processes
- Experience in leading projects from concept through validation: equipment specification, installation, commissioning, qualification, and verification
- Experience in sanitary design, USDA, and FDA food processing as well as HACCP, OSHA, and other food production standards
