Job Summary

The Technical SEO Specialist will play a key role in driving SEO initiatives to meet our B2B business objectives. They will be responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and implementing strategies that will optimize our website. They will optimize website visibility and rankings through big-picture thinking and laser-focused keyword knowledge and content development. They will have in-depth knowledge of keyword research, SEO technical copywriting, and the working knowledge of SEO tools. They will also oversee a large-scale site migration to a new ecommerce platform. SEO is an ever-changing landscape, so the SEO specialist needs to be continuously learning and evolving.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Build a multi-year roadmap for SEO, with the ultimate goal to increase organic traffic
  • Strong technical writing skills is a must to develop website content, buying guides, blog articles, and page descriptions
  • Oversee a site migration to a new ecommerce platform utilizing SEO techniques
  • Working knowledge of current search engine optimization practices
  • Act as the SEO expert for topics such as keyword research, on-page SEO, technical SEO, and link building
  • Identify KPIs (search visibility, visits, leads, on-site behavior metrics, and conversion rate) that drive business results beyond traffic volume or specific keyword rankings. Plus, report on those KPIs to executives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – understands how to manage expectations through effective communication
  • Be a source of knowledge for all things SEO, proactively sharing ideas and recommendations to the organization
  • Maintain regular competitive analysis (direct competitors, best-in-class, new vendors, competitors to existing vendors)
  • Support other digital channel leads in the creation of optimized landing pages

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in both content optimization and technical SEO
  • Technical site migration knowledge and project management skills
  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools (e.g. Google Search Console, Google My Business, Conductor, Screaming Frog, MOZ, SEMRush, Google Analytics, etc)
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and ecommerce Content Management Systems (CMS) systems
  • Ability to manage projects concurrently while maintaining schedules and adhering to budgets
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • org / semantic markup
  • Strong data interpretation capabilities and analytical curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
