artisan baked goods since 1994. Family owned and native to San Francisco, the

significantly with sales to retailers across the country resulting in significant strong
performance in the grocery deli category. In 2020, Ridgeline Ventures invested in
Raison with a plan to expand on the successes of the bakery, grow the cheese crisp
business, and invest in a world class team. Raison D’être’s operations are under the
Perfectly Crisp (at Whole Foods) label, Joyfull Cheese Company brands, among others

What You Will Do
As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for completing many of the daily transactions of the business (invoicing, payables, payment receipt/processing), coordinating and processing the close of financials each month, and ensuring the accuracy of the financial records. You will help guide business and financial processes by recommending and implementing key financial policies and procedures for timely execution and compliance with GAAP. You will be responsible for execution of the accounting close schedule and maintenance of accounting system (QuickBooks Enterprise). As the company scales, you will assist with enhancing key metric reporting and improving the accounting close process. You will also be responsible for some tax filings, payroll processing, insurance renewals, and other general corporate related business filings. This is a hands-on, in-office position with some flex-time.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Completion of all tasks related to invoicing, accounts payable, and receivables
- Process all customer payments and send to banking partner
- Perform all month-end accruals (Trade Spend, Freight, Payroll, Brokerage, Opex, others) and adjust for any prepaids
- Maintain a fixed asset schedule and depreciate assets as needed per GAAP
- Review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts (Cash, AR, Line of Credit, Inventory, AP, Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets)
- Timely and accurate processing of payroll and posting payroll journals
- Report any necessary information to bank in a timely manner
- Continually work in QuickBooks to perform the following:
- Invoicing customers
- Processing payments to vendors
- Recording customer payments
- Reconciliation of physical inventory counts
- Recording of bank transfers
- Posting and booking of Ecomm orders
- Reconciliation of bank balances and LOC balances
- Inputting of all credit card transactions
- Process monthly, quarterly, and year-end financials including supporting tax preparation
- Provide support as appropriate to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will be an disciplined self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills. This position will required a detailed and collaborative approach to managing the accounting processes of a growing company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience required
- Food production or manufacturing experience required
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- QuickBooks Enterprise experience required
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience working with an inventory management system or ERP highly desirable
- Previous payroll processing experience a plus
- Highly detailed and organized
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills and able to build strong working relationships
- Passion for the natural food and beverage business a plus
