When we began this journey, we were just a small group of popcorn lovers who wanted better popcorn. Despite popcorn’s popularity, it had lacked innovation for decades. Nothing exciting had happened since the invention of the Air Popper and microwave popcorn in the 1970’s. The market is flooded with new bagged popcorn flavors, but everyone knows the best popcorn is made hot and fresh. What was missing from fresh popcorn was great flavor, a better experience, and special attention to growing the perfect kernels. So we set out to completely reinvent popcorn. And thus, Opopop was born.

POSITION SUMMARYÂ
Opopop is seeking an innovative and experienced Customer / Retention Marketing Manager to lead customer marketing and grow customer lifetime value. A successful person in this role will have demonstrated B2C experience retaining customers, creating brand advocates, and growing revenue through repeat purchases.Â
This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be our first full-time marketing hire. Responsibilities include customer retention, LTV growth, loyalty programs, referral programs, email marketing, SMS, consumer insights, and data analysis. You will also play a significant role in areas such as customer service, social media, and content creation. Eventually, this position will also have a role in corporate sales. As with any startup, you will be expected to contribute to other areas of marketing and pitch in wherever needed.Â
This is a role with potential for growth at a company made up of a team of experienced entrepreneurs and marketers. The founding team is made up of seasoned veterans who have launched and built successful Colorado companies that include Larabar, Beatport, Beta Nightclub, and Sphero, among others. We are a private, venture capital funded company, with a distinguished group of investors and advisors including Peter Rahal, founder of RXBAR, advertising icon Alex Bogusky, Grammy award-winning DJ/Producer Tiësto, and Academy Award-winning director Jimmy Chin.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement programs that retain customers and grow LTV
- Create and execute strategic plans to drive engagement and conversions
- Design and optimize email campaigns, including automated emails and flows
- Manage and optimize loyalty, referral, and review programs
- Develop and manage an SMS program
- Generate consumer insights through data analysis and present to the team
- Provide insights to improve customer service and FAQ’s
- Optimize touchpoints to provide exceptional end-to-end customer experiences
- Bring innovative ideas on digital technologies and marketing automation
- Help to manage social media and participate in content creation
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years of marketing experience with a strong track record of successÂ
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- B2C marketing experience required
- Deep expertise in customer retention and LTV growth required
- DTC, Food & Beverage and/or Startup experience strongly preferred
- Strong passion for serving and understanding customers
- Significant expertise with email marketing, loyalty programs, referral programs, review programs, customer service, consumer insights, and content creation
- Detail and execution-oriented with the ability to successfully manage competing priorities
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically
- Expertise in creating and driving quantifiable metrics/KPIs
- Ability to leverage consumer data to engage, retain, and reactivate customers
- Demonstrated ability to message, position, and present information for maximum impactÂ
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
