Job Description:

The Vice President-Engineering’s primary focus will be to provide the strategic direction and leadership to engage Meati’s leaders in successfully creating new facilities, implementing new technologies and processes, while maintaining and upgrading existing facilities. The VP Engineering will progress the organization through Lean manufacturing phases in a way that drives business objectives by continuously improving safety, quality, productivity, and costs. A strong emphasis will be to develop and evolve functional excellence within engineering and maintenance to world class operating levels and taking ownership of the company’s overall key initiative to drive sustainable competitive advantage through Meati’s total customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • With senior leadership, establish the vision and strategy to drive world class excellence within engineering and maintenance to optimize performance.
  • Provide the leadership and technical knowledge required to ensure asset management through effective capital planning and facilities management using internal and external resources, optimizing overall performance through the implementation of equipment efficiencies, facility design, or other technical improvements.
  • Provide active design, leadership, and advocacy of a continuous improvement culture, particularly related to facility engineering and maintenance.
  • Manage the company’s strategic 5-year capital budget plan
  • Execute automation projects to deliver operational cost reductions.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for all assets.
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions in coordination with operations, internal industrial engineering team, internal facilities engineering team, and external resources.
  • Develop relationships with equipment and service vendors.
  • Develop and manage the procurement process for materials and services in a manner that encourages market visibility and competition for all types of work, ensuring ethical practices are being followed related to procurement.
  • Develop Supply Chain strategies, processes, and best practices by leading an internal team; partnering with cross-functional teams across the business; assessing key opportunities; documenting project scopes; developing long-range plans and project timelines; and communicating with and influencing decision-makers and executives within the organization.
  • Lead change initiatives from concept to implementation to achieve desired results by identifying and defining transformational change and processes.
  • Drive process improvement programs by evaluating and determining improvement needs.

Here's what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Process Engineering or other Engineering field, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading the engineering and maintenance function in a consumer product manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Hands-on experience in converting traditional distribution, manufacturing, and administrative operations to “Lean”.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate a team to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and GMP manufacturing requirements.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability in food safety.
  • Knowledge of fermentation facility planning and design preferred.
  • Successful leading projects and facilitating teams in a Manufacturing or Supply Chain environment involving all levels of employees with measurable results.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • CADD, OSHA Certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
