About the Job

The Ardent Mills Product Delivery organization is looking for a Product Owner to join our Data Warehouse team!  In this role, you will be a leader on our Data Warehouse agile team focused on building a single, reliable, trusted source of data truth. This solution is utilized through all aspects of our business, from every day operational KPIs, to advanced analytical models that feed our competitive edge. A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate technical acumen while representing the voice of the team, the business, and the customer in backlog prioritization, roadmap creation, and team discussions.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for serving our customers, an ability to inspire and align our engineers to the product vision, and is excited by the prospect of taking on complex challenges.  

Your Day to Day

  • Steer the development of our Data Warehouse Platform, managing and owning the product backlog and roadmap
  • Partner with the leads in our Data and Analytics organization to research and define business requirements for new features
  • Prepare solid business specifications for new features to be developed by our Data Engineering team
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders on questions regarding the Data Warehouse
  • Develop a strong cross-collaborative relationship with your Data Engineering process and technical leads to ensure an efficient and productive delivery team 
  • Identify opportunities for business improvement based on our current setup
  • Actively participate in agile practices like Scrum with the Data Engineering team
  • Take ownership of data projects, from concept to launch
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical and product teams on cross-functional efforts

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a software-driven company as a Product Owner or similar role
  • BS/BA degree in business, technology or related field
  • Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum & Kanban
  • Comfortable being the point of contact for different stakeholders ranging from technical leads to business executives
  • Proven experience working with relational databases and using SQL for the purposes of bridging business needs and technical clarifications
  • You are a quick learner, passionate about your work and driven to get things done
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You get stuff shipped!

Nice to Have

  • 5 years professional experience
  • Experience with Big Data Systems
  • Experience with Design Thinking Principals
  • Supply chain or lean manufacturing experience
  • Experience with PowerBI and Microsoft Data Stack

Ardent Mills is headquartered in Denver, CO.  This role can be 100% remote.  The successful candidate will be expected to commit to a periodic presence in the Denver HQ office, the frequency of which will be determined by the hiring manager.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities and level of experiences. The rate for this position starts at $78,143.10and goes up from there. Our salary ranges are quite broad, and your individual salary will be market competitive based on your unique set of skills and level of experience. Additionally, because we believe that our team members are the reason for our success, we offer all team members (who are not excluded due to their collective bargaining agreement) an opportunity to earn at minimum 5% additional variable incentives based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. Your specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on your role and contributions.
