Procurement and Supply Chain Manager

Opopop is here to revolutionize the popcorn industry. We are a new and exciting popcorn company with manufacturing facilities in the Denver metro area. We are currently seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager for our facility in Englewood, CO.

Position Overview

We are seeking an ambitious leader to manager our raw goods material management utilizing ERP and MRP systems. The main objectives will be inventory accuracies, procurement strategies, and the development of supply chain partnerships. This position will also be responsible for incoming product quality and establishing quality expectations with the suppliers.

This position reports to the COO.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop short- and long-term purchasing strategies for all raw components (food to packaging).
  • Utilizing the ERP/MRP system, review and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received; ensure 3-way match.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with vendors, while negotiating pricing strategies, supply agreements and quality agreements.
  • Must have the ability to search and source new vendors
  • Where necessary, work with the development team to select prospective vendors.
  • Utilizing a vendor rating system, evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
  • Work with internal logistics team and 3-PL’s to schedule deliveries and ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs to meet varying and growing demand.
  • Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
  • Travels to vendor locations as required for Audit and business review purposes.
  • Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.

  • Interpersonal Skills:  utilized every day to communicate and interact with other people, both individually and in groups.
  • Negotiating Skills: must be able to interact with suppliers to reach agreements of mutual interest and benefit.
  • Results focus: utilize various tools to reach positive outcome.
  • Financial and cost management skills:  make decisions based on full understanding of financial implications while controlling costs.
  • Contract Management: develop and maintain contracts that maximize operational performance and enforce compliance.

Other Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Manufacturing or Food Handling preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends if necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand on a hard surface for long periods of time
  • Use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend
  • Employee must lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a food allergens environment
  • Working environment provides exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, and dry particulate), employee must be able to sustain these changes throughout the shift

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $85k-$95k, however, the actual salary range will depend on each candidate’s experience and qualifications.
