Who We Are

The Pet Sustainability Coalition is a rapidly growing 501c3 non-profit that advances business through profitable environmental and social practices within the global pet industry. We are the leading sustainability organization focused specifically on the pet industry and our Coalition members represent the global supply chain, including suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers. We serve our Coalition members in a $125 billion and growing industry by educating, inspiring, and implementing sustainability services toward a better future for pets, people, and the planet.

Who We are Looking For

PSC seeks a skilled Director of Operations to help us scale as we experience tremendous growth of our member companies. Join our ambitious, optimistic and professional team in this full-time position based in Boulder, Colorado.

What You will Do:

The Director of Operations will report to the Executive Director and provide institution-wide leadership for operations that support our internal teams, external partners and, above all else, our Coalition members. You will set, articulate and implement a vision for the operational infrastructure needed to expand PSC’s depth and breadth of services to our growing membership base, including:

  • Working cross functionally with department heads -- including Member Experience, Project Management, Accreditation and Marketing -- to ensure organizational systems, data storage and content delivery are best in class, innovative and working effectively and efficiently.
  • Facilitate cross-channel feedback from members, employees, management and executive teams and work with departments to learn their needs, goals, and how PSC can support them best.
  • Manage and implement projects that enhance internal efficiency and capacity.
  • Lead the analytical and reporting demands of PCS to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Lead data privacy protocols and procedures.
  • Lead continuous iteration, innovation, testing and improvement of organization-wide practices
  • Lead all database management operations, including user management, building and running reports, automatic workflows, and cross-system integration between CRM and other systems.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, web developers and sustainability project leaders to ensure https://petsustainability.org/, including our educational toolkit, is best in class.
  • Oversee office operations, including equipment, software and vendor purchasing agreements.
  • Support HR related tasks, including payroll management and scheduling needs.

The Skills and Attributes You Will Bring to PSC

As a member of the PSC leadership team, you will bring 4+ years of experience in an operations role, including 2+ years of leading a team and/or operations for an organization, preferably a high-growth organization. You are known for being able to blend your quantitative, technical and analytical skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You are an active listener and able to draw out the best of your colleagues for a collaborative approach. You are gifted at time management and have the ability to prioritize impact, working fast toward solutions while being thorough. You are a creative thinker, able to conceive ideas outside of existing structures. You have a teaching mindset, taking joy out of training and educating your colleagues and constituencies, and you are able to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism from a variety of audiences and channels.

In your 6+ years you have also developed and demonstrated some specific experience sets and skills, including:

  • CRM implementation, utilization and improvement (Neon preferred)
  • Project management (5+years)
  • Strategic Planning & execution
  • Bachelors in Operations/non-profit management/business administration/business management
  • Deep experience with systems and tools that are designed to enhance operations, communication and implementation of programs, such as CRMs, Airtable, Trello, HubSpot, WordPress, Google Drive.
  • Direct experience working in high growth environments that have developed your ability to exude calm under pressure.

How You Will Be Compensated:

The base salary range is $75,000 - $90,0000 / year, depending on prior experience.
