Your role:
This position is integral in the management of capital spending, project management and asset accounting for Ardent Mills. This position has shared responsibility for accounting for capital spend of $70-$100M annually. This includes ensuring adequate internal controls, interpreting and applying corporate and GAAP guidelines, and ensuring P&L and balance sheet entries are accurate. This position is also responsible for Headquarter payables, for requisitions and goods receipts.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding Capital Investment Request (CIR) process, analysis and payback calculations. Participate in CIR preparation, review for accuracy, and facilitation of approval process.
- Responsible for performing capital accounting functions including generation of purchase requisitions, forecasting, monitoring of expenses, depreciation entries, cost accruals, preparing financial reports and balance sheet support.
- Be a resource for engineering, accounting, and others regarding capital policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate asset listing including additions, retirements, transfers, accurate book and tax lives while ensuring data integrity for all sub-systems utilized.
- Develop best practices and benchmarking in the capital management and continuous improvement areas.
- Complete other projects, tasks and responsibilities as assigned, miscellaneous month end entries

Essential skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Experience working in a business/manufacturing environment
- Experience in Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or Jaggaer
- Prior experience in fixed assets/capital projects preferred
- General Ledger experience, including Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Familiarity with general expense/lease and capitalization guidelines
- Experience with basic/intermediate financial modeling for capital projects
- Experience with implementing, and monitoring internal controls and effective policies
- Demonstrated leadership skills

**The successful candidate will be expected to commit to a periodic presence in the Denver HQ office, the frequency of which is open to discussion with the hiring manager.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:
We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $58,819.90 - $78,451.05, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 5% Annual.
