As HRIS Manager you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Workday HCM application and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data flowing in and out of the system. The HRIS Manager will oversee all functionality related to the Workday Program at Ardent Mills including, day to day management, optimization, and innovation of the HCM system in partnership with the strategic needs of the business. The person in this role will create short and long-term goals and objectives for system builds, operations, processes, data flows and security. This role will collaborate with the HR & IT teams to implement enhancements in functionality to promote an excellent employee and manager experience. The HRIS Manager will be accountable for the leadership, development, coaching, and growth of the HRIS team that directly reports to them, ensuring strong performance and delivery of goals and objectives.

  • Own the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday HCM and HR related systems. 
  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to business and functional leaders to continuously improve service delivery and to assist in brining system solutions to solve or enhance business problems.  
  • Lead governance process, road-mapping exercises and cross-functional resource planning 
  • Drive the deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, ensuring business requirements are met 
  • Evaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancements 
  • Lead the HRIS team and their support of Workday through ensuring day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects 
  • Own data governance, security, and compliance 
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities 
  • Develop and promote continuous learning within the HRIS team. 
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex or escalated issues that arise regarding systems and data. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain and develop processes that will create a best in class HR operations platform and an excellent team member experience. 
  • Work with internal partners to identify and suggest analytics needed for business objectives, using system capabilities to efficiently deploy those analytics. 
  • Lead projects and teams; obtain key partner buy-in, develop requirements, build/test, prepare for change management, go-live and conduct post-mortem feedback improvements. 
  • Ensure data security, compliance, integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities within the Workday system. 
  • Provide leadership and build a high performing team of analysts with a culture of accountability  and development that ensures delivery of timely, quality services. 
  • Establish key metrics to monitor Workday utilization and identify trends, root causes and solutions to drive efficiency and scale within Workday 
  • Lead the vendor relationship and stay informed of industry trends and new technologies. 

Essential skills and experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 5 years equivalent experience in HR information system management 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in using Workday  
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct or indirect Leadership of a team 
  • Experience in implementation and management of enterprise HR Applications
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex topics for target audiences 
  • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities  
  • High technical aptitude 
  • Project planning, management, risk monitoring and mitigation 
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution 
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality 

Good to Have:

  • Workday Certifications or training  
  • Understanding of core HR processes, documentation standards

  • Ardent Mills is headquartered in Denver, CO.  This role can be 100% remote. 
    The successful candidate will be expected to commit to a periodic presence in the Denver HQ office, the frequency of which is open to discussion with the hiring manager.

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $93,016.77 - $124,061.11, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 10% Annual.
