Job Purpose Summary:
Working with the SVP of Marketing, the Brand Manager / Senior Brand Manager is a key marketing leadership position for the company and is accountable for brand activation, driving company revenue, new product innovation and e-commerce. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong marketing and brand activation skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders. Candidate must have a strong track record of success in building brands, be able to work in a team environment, and be passionate about working in an unstructured entrepreneurial environment.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Build brand equity and deliver big ideas to drive growth including developing and implementing brand strategy, consumer segmentation, targeting and positioning of brand.
- Develop and execute annual marketing plans and programs to drive household penetration and trial of the Good Karma brand.
- Manage marketing budget including measuring and analyzing sales impact of marketing programming and the profitability/ROI of marketing expenditures.
- Manage and assists in execution of all digital social and influencer marketing initiatives including developing programs to drive e-commerce sales, social media messaging and execution and digital advertising.
- Works with agency partners in the creative development process and execution of all national and local advertising campaigns.
- Partner closely with sales team to drive marketing strategy by executing retailer-specific and shopper marketing opportunities and providing needed execution and support.
- Lead marketing and KPI reporting (i.e., syndicated sales performance). Continuously monitor business and brand health performance using internal and external data resources to identify issues and opportunities to drive both brand development and volume performance.
- Manage consumer response (website, consumer affairs).
- Assists with establishing brand pricing strategies and analysis to monitor all pricing and price promotion levels and activities.
- Directs and manages three-year innovation pipeline in conjunction with R&D team including active projects and building out pipeline of new initiatives. Creates strong selling story for new items in conjunction with sales team.

- Understand brand strategy – consumer segmentation, consumer targeting, brand positioning and brand architecture.
- Develop business plans that will strengthen brand position in each consumer segment and market, to identify risks and take advantage of opportunities in new markets. This requires both broad and deep understanding of target consumers and development of product and visual concepts that will attract and convert them to our products.
- Possess strong P&L management skills, which are critical to navigating the complexities of changing input costs, a complex supply chain, and increased competition for shelf space.
- Possess and demonstrate excellent strategic capabilities, analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Provide leadership to both the Marketing team and multiple cross-functional team members and pull the teams together to manage priorities and deliver on goals.
- Demonstrate key leadership characteristics including drive to deliver results, collaboration, flexibility, strong communicator, entrepreneurial, ability to roll up sleeves, big idea thinker, and integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict resolution and influence management skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND COMPENSATION
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in brand/consumer products marketing leadership roles including prior experience with BOTH big company and entrepreneurial company experience (e.g., revenue under $30 million).
- Candidate must be a proficient user in POWERPOINT, WORD, EXCEL, and SPINS/Nielsen.
- MBA preferred.
