GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are searching for a hands on, highly-analytical director of finance to oversee our company’s financial reporting and accounting operations. In this position, you will not only be an accomplished accountant and proactive with company finances but will also be commercially aware and willing to be involved in the day-to-day finances.

Your duties include establishing profit and cost targets, helping to develop budgets, generating monthly reports, and performing financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, od high integrity and who works well in a fast pace start up environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
  • Perform regular financial analysis.
  • Develop and helping to meet department and company budgets
  • Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
  • Prepare company financial statements monthly and annually, as needed
  • Provide strategic financial planning advice to upper management for long-term growth
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the board of directors and executive director
  • Use data analysis to strategically forecast financial trends
  • Guarantee compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
  • Ensure all state and federal taxes are collected and paid on time
  • Recognize patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
  • Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.
  • Direct and monitor all financial activity of the organization
  • Manage company cash flow & cash flow models
  • Assess company spending and proactively work to reduce costs and improve margins
  • Build internal P&L models for key customers and products

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA preferred

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial management.
  • Experience in the CPG or physical product space

Other:

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written; skilled in the art of negotiation
  • Extremely knowledgeable in financial forecasting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis
  • Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure
  • Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision-maker
  • Self-Starter who has a demonstrated track record and ability to drive their own performance
