The Project Manager will develop and lead our product commercialization process, and oversee a wide variety of initiatives that will transform our market execution. The Project Manager is a hands-on role, responsible for managing multiple projects, as well as executing on deliverables. This role will partner with team members from various functions to build alignment on scope and approach, business requirements and processes, and optimized solutions. The job requires experience, patience, drive, and flexibility to manage the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that a fast-growing company will face.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages from start-to-finish the entire scope of the project; owning all areas of the schedule, scope, budget, and change management
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in each department impacted by projects to gather requirements, establish scope definition, and define accurate timelines and deliverables
- Establish and maintain accountability within project – Delegation
- Communicate project strategy, updates, and escalation of risks/issues to multiple levels of management, including executive leadership teams across the organization
- Work with department leadership to manage the prioritization and throughput of projects
- Evangelize and drive the proper use of project management processes and tools by demonstrating value across the department and with stakeholders
- Proactively build strong and trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Execute on project deliverables/milestones as/when required
- Contributing to the development of methodologies, standards, and best practices to streamline processes and create efficiencies for the Project Management capability and train team members when applicable
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates must be highly motivated and have exceptional written and verbal communication, sound judgment, recognized problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of excelling in a self-directed work environment. This candidate will be responsible for timely communication and team building as the center of influence among multiple departments. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player – someone approachable with a positive, innovative, and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder and takes on a “sleeves-rolled-up” and a “can-do” attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally.
CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in project management within CPG, Personal Care categories preferred
- Certification in PMI, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma preferred
- Solid command of project lifecycle and project management methodologies
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), specifically being an active listener and communicator that can convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing to various levels of leadership
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and work through ambiguity
- Experience with flowcharting applications
- Advanced Smartsheet experience
- Experience with and a point of view on Project Management software and/or programs
