Reporting to the Chief Hemp Officer, the National Sales Manager (NSM) is accountable for profitably growing revenue across U.S. natural and grocery accounts and various e-commerce platforms by developing and maintaining positive relationships with existing and new clients. The NSM will initiate an action plan approach to secure customers and manage new business to grow revenue and profits. The NSM will evaluate market trends, strategies, and establish specific sales and merchandising objectives to ensure the company meets its top-line revenue goals. The NSM will spearhead and develop tracking and assessment of all business and brand activities in collaboration with the Marketing team.

Responsible for leading the sales effort for the RE Botanicals brand. Duties include:
- Create, develop, and execute sales strategies, forecasts, and produce results for existing and new natural, grocery, e-commerce customers
- Identify and target new sales opportunities within U.S. channels of responsibility
- Manage sales brokers to achieve sales goals and customer volume objectives
- Execute sales strategy and ensure strategic alignment with the company’s broader strategic plan
- Develop sales proposals and brand presentations in collaboration with Marketing team, lead complex sales negotiations, set up key customer sales presentations and close deals
- Analyze sales statistics on client offerings to determine business growth potential; effectively utilize SPINS and portal data from key accounts
- Partner with Operations team to monitor quality control
- Manage national sales team consisting of Regional Sales Managers and Territory Sales Representatives
- Develop annual performance objectives for direct reports and monitor performance throughout the year
- Manage trade spend budget and gross sales to budget targets
- Ensure RE Botanicals’ sales team and brokers focus on key initiatives, high value accounts, and target items
- Assist Sales team with closing contracts, client issue resolutions, and contract negotiations
- Train and mentor sales team in all aspects of their roles, including but not limited to, new business development, relationship building with clients, and strengthening sales strategy and targeted and strategic account growth
- Collaborate with Marketing team to develop effective point of sale and trade collateral materials
- Develop sales and expense forecasts for the annual strategic plan for the retail and other classes of trade; monitor monthly performance against budget targets and make appropriate adjustments to achieve company profit targets and maintain forecast accuracy
- Manage promotion programs for natural, grocery, and conventional channels; coordinate verification and management of manufacturer chargebacks (MCBs), enlisting sales team to provide on-going review by customer
- Collaborate with the sales team to utilize our CRM system to track and follow up on clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Position-Specific Skills
- Proven success in natural/organic sales industry
- Robust sales management experience in the Supplement/HABA side of the business managing multiple product categories and customers – Candidates whose experience is limited to center-store categories will not be considered
- Demonstrated engagement in making the world a better place through sustainable business practices and promotion of a healthy lifestyle
- Excited to be a spokesperson for and represent the RE Botanicals brand-revolutionizing the hemp products industry and commercial agriculture in the U.S.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication skills that demonstrate high level of emotional intelligence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while being agile and making quick, effective decisions with limited information
- Willingness to travel (at least 70%, including Boulder, Colorado headquarters)
Leadership Skills
- Proven success in leading a team while rolling up their own sleeves to get the work done
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels across the organization and with customers
Education/Training Required
- 7 - 10 years progressive sales experience including past supervisory experience in the natural/organic consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the HABA channel
- BS/BA in Business or related field or its equivalent in experience
- Nutrition background appreciated
