As a key member of the RE Botanicals Leadership Team, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business. The Director of Marketing manages branded communication to consumers and trade through, packaging, point of sale (POS) material, sampling/demos, promotions, influencer programs, public relations, content marketing, social media and all other marketing activities. The role is crucial to also driving new product development, go to marketing for new items, and competitive and category analysis.
Reporting directly to the CHO, this Boulder, Colorado based role oversees the Marketing and Customer Experience staff, assuring top performing and highly collaborative teams.
The Director of Marketing must uphold RE Botanicals' values of entrepreneurship, having fun while excelling and creating a regenerative world while leading our team and interacting with our associates, vendors, and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Marketing Plan to gain trial, increase brand awareness, and drive sales
- Own the product development and launch process, working cross-functionally with R&D, QA, and Sales, to introduce new products that drive innovation and growth and position RE Botanicals as a leader in the natural products industry
- Oversee all aspects of new product launch, including positioning, packaging, pricing, and promotions - Grow market share by developing marketing plans and programs for each product and channel
- Oversee brand presence at key national trade shows (such as Natural Products Expo West and Expo East) including booth development and set-up, sampling, collateral and overall presentation
- Oversee the company website including branding, messaging, and promotions with the support of the design, communications, and e-commerce team
- Develop the marketing department staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and leadership to build a high performing, agile team
- Work with the CHO, Senior Graphic designer, as well as design/branding consultants and agencies to express the evolution of the brand throughout all consumer touch points
- Support the Communications Manager and/or contractors to develop public relations outreach and initiatives, managing the media, agencies, and measuring effectiveness of PR campaigns
- Plan and execute impactful partner programs with ambassadors, bloggers, and non-profits
- Work with the communications team to incorporate product launches and key communications into the social media marketing strategy and community building activities
- Supervise the Customer Experience team, empowering them to offer exceptional service to our customers by streamlining systems and processes and providing essential communication tools
- Provide forecasts and reports by directing research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data – Monitors competitive landscape
- Connects to the core consumer of natural/organic products, identifying opportunities to reach a broader consumer base, and monitors their current and future needs
- Hire, and onboard team members to ensure they are successful in their role – Set key performance objectives and assess performance quarterly.
- Lead, coach, enforce, empower and direct hourly and salaried team members to perform and achieve goals in line with Company values and strategy and department goals adhering to Human Resources processes and policies
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Position-Specific Skills
- 7-10 years in organic/natural Consumer Packaged Goods with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
