Full Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the full cycle accounting for Oberalp North America. The Accountant will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, bank account reconciliations, expense report processing, fixed asset management, sales and income tax returns, general ledger entries, month-end and year-end close procedures, and financial analysis and reporting. The Accountant will also be responsible for office management responsibilities, as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

The primary focus of this position will be on accounts receivable, customer communication, and collections. Accountant will be utilized as needed for all other accounting related duties.

• Manage accounts receivable
• Cash applications and payment reconciliations
• Customer account set up and maintenance, risk classifications, update credit limits
• Customer invoicing and issuance of credit notes
• Credit insurance policy compliance
• Credit agency reporting and monitoring
• Process credit card payments
• Initiating the A/R collections process
• Assist with Accounts Payable duties as necessary
• Record and reconcile bank transactions daily
• Prepare documentation for external tax consultant
• Perform routine and ad-hoc reporting and analysis
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible for office management tasks such as ordering office supplies

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of Accounting experience preferred
• Familiarity with standard concepts, procedures, and practices in Accounting, including US GAAP and general ledger / month-end processes
• Strong computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in Microsoft Excel is essential, with a competence with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and other advanced functions.
• ERP experience is required; Microsoft Navision experience is ideal
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management skills, including the ability to work efficiently, prioritize projects, and be self-motivated
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• A passion for success, a positive attitude, and a tireless work ethic are all a must
• Flexibility and willingness to help in any way asked are needed in our team environment
• Love of the outdoors. A specific passion for mountain sports such as backcountry skiing, climbing/mountaineering, and/or trail running is a plus.
