Responsible for:

  • Lead the way
  • Lead store visits focused on the client experience, team member engagement, visual brand standards, and operational excellence
  • Act as a liaison between stores and HQ
  • Strategically partner across the areas of the business to support company objectives and brand initiatives
  • Look at the big picture
  • Develop area-level strategies to achieve store goals, while keeping in mind each store’s unique strengths and challenges
  • Lead a team of leaders
  • Set clear expectations, communicate with intention, provide meaningful recognition, deliver timely feedback and accountability 
  • Serve as a resource
  • Provide insight and expertise as needed to ensure Store Leaders are supported across all areas of the business
  • Model the way
  • Roll up your sleeves and immerse yourself in all aspects of the 4 key areas of a retail store: People, Sales, Visual Merchandising and Operations
  • Put people first
  • Nurture leaders and store cultures that are reflective of our brand values and foster connection and trusting relationships
  • Observe your team’s performance
  • Provide timely and relevant feedback
  • Coach in the moment, host bi-weekly touch bases and conduct quarterly performance reviews
  • Know your businesses inside and out
  • Actively monitor KPIs and goals and strategize with Store Leaders and the Retail Leadership team to make effective and informed decisions to influence and grow your businesses
  • Coach to compliance
  • Ensure timely follow through and execution of company directives and standards
  • Keep a “black book” and never stop networking
  • Manage staff levels, talent development and motivation for those within your stores
  • Get to know your neighbors; your fellow shop keepers, the artists, local influencers, dogwalkers, and the couple that lives in the apartment above the store

 Must have qualifications include:

  • Multiple years leadership experience in a similar scope retail business; hi-growth direct to consumer retail brands preferred
  • Experience working independently in an ambiguous environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lead change management within team and organization
  • Omnichannel awareness and the ability to lead teams to provide a seamless customer experience between retail stores and ecommerce platforms
  • Proven track record leading and influencing across the four key areas of a retail business; success reflective in consistently outpacing sales and performance goals
  • Adept with technology and apps, including but not limited to Google Suites and MS office, and familiar with industry-related blogs and feeds
  • Demonstrated ability to build dynamic, high performing teams that align with company goals and values and are reflective of the communities we serve
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and provide feedback across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to critically assess and coach Store Leaders performance to improve and optimize store output
  • Possess an understanding of the local markets to ensure the store is tailored to drive customer loyalty and sales
  • Passionate about building a brand with purpose and demonstrating advocacy through business

Physical Requirements:

  • Available when we are open for business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time
