The Category Manager and Business Analyst is a full-time role in our Boulder, CO office that will support the a2 milk USA sales, marketing and finance teams by providing category and business insights by leveraging syndicated and other data sources to drive business growth. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the senior members of the company to drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Be the expert for syndicated, panel, and shipment data sources (SPINS, 84.51, IRI, EYC etc.)
- Negotiate and manage contracts with data suppliers
- Deliver recurring reporting tracking company performance versus competition and internal goals - Conduct and present internal business reviews
- Develop actionable insights relative to category, customers, and consumers to drive business growth
- Support the development of KPIs, materials, and reporting packages directed to the Marketing, Sales, Finance and Senior Leadership Teams
- Perform promotional and trade analysis to provide insight and recommendations to drive promotional efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with Sales in supporting category management / shopper insights efforts, including sales presentations and materials
- Responsible for creating national and customer specific selling stories
- Provide ad-hoc analysis, insights, and recommendations around distribution, price, promotion, velocity trends, competitive activity, ROI on investment, etc.
- Support forecasting and opportunity analyses for current and potential products
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and innovation
Qualifications
- 5-7 years sales, marketing, analytics experience
- A. or B.S. degree in a related field is required
- High growth, food industry experience a plus
- Expertise working with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINs)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, modeling, etc.)
- Advanced data analysis and financial modeling experience
- Ability to develop actionable insights and recommendations from data
- Highly developed project management skills
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information at an easy to understand, summary level, is required.
- Self-directed, pro-active, detail-oriented, and an individual who takes ownership
- Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize many projects simultaneously
