Controller

What does a view of the Boulder Flatirons and potty jokes have in common? A job at NextFoods, Inc., makers of GoodBelly Probiotics.  If you have a passion for probiotics, are a detail oriented self-starter, are willing and able to live by our High Five core values, and want to be a part of a small, scrappy company, you could be our next Controller. Working out of our Boulder office this position is the right hand to the CFO and is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, monthly close and financial reporting and analysis ensuring the accuracy, timely execution and maintenance of our financial records.

Some of the general responsibilities of the Controller include:  

• Directing day-to day accounting functions including supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Completing month end close accurately and on a timely basis.
• Preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly financial information.
• Development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
• Managing annual financial and other audits
• Maintaining chart of accounts and inventory item lists
• Filing quarterly and annual state and local tax returns sales & use, property, excise tax
• Supporting the CFO on special projects.

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• You have five plus years’ in a general accounting roll, preferably manufacturing and consumer products.
• CPA and public accounting experience a plus.
• You have a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis using MS Excel.
• You have experience with accounting systems preferably QuickBooks.
• You are well organized and enjoy juggling multiple responsibilities.
• You thrive in a small company environment and have a “whatever it takes” attitude.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work well independently, and with others.
• You are capable of instigating and having FUN!
