Job Title: Director of Business Management
Division/Department: Rail Events Inc./Admin.
Reports To: Rail Events Inc. (REI) Vice President/General Manager

Employee Classification: Regular
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000

Job Summary: The Director of Business Management working directly under the General Manager, is responsible for the planning, training, execution, and oversight of all aspects of the Front of House at all events that Rail Events Productions operates. They will take a leading role in directing the individual event teams in processes, operation, business, and human resources for each specific site. The position will provide oversight to ensure successful operation of a seasonal call center as well as the catering and ticketing departments. They will oversee customer service for REP and train a seasonal call center with support staff as needed. The Director of Business Management will work closely with the REI licensing team to make sure that licensee is receiving all of the necessary support to operate the events while also ensuring that the events are successful financially for each venue. The Director of Business Management will work closely with the Executive Management to develop business plans and models for new products and offerings that fall under the REI umbrella.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct and control activities to ensure the companies’ goals and objectives are reached and consistent with established company policy and procedure.
- Annual and periodic budgeting and allocation of finances for REI and REP between multiple departments. Create suggested budget plans for the financial year while reviewing monthly finances. Suggest departmental budget changes as required and communicate financial information to assist in proactive and timely decision making.
- Act as point of contact for REP ticketing system and review each ticket launch set up
- Serve as liaison and internal implementer of ticketing system including but not limited to:
- Building all ticket products for all events in the ticketing system (inventory)
- Identify opportunities for growth in product layout and available products
- Manage sales trends and work with marketing on sales projections and initiatives
- Analyze potential risks/threats to company goals and objectives and communicate with senior staff when needed to mitigate potential issues.
- Work to increase revenue by collaborating with REI/REP Managers on strategies to meet goals. Ensure that productivity and efficiency are measured commensurate with sales initiatives.
- Review and support the highest quality of communication and services that are provided to REI/REP clients.
- Consult with the Human Resource Department while focusing on training and motivation of employees to achieve goals and conceptualize and implement reward and recognition programs.
- Act as a liaison with accounting on payroll requirements and follow up.
- Work with the General Manger in reviewing products and communicate with team on implementation plans of new product offerings
- Frequently attend and ride various REI licensed events and REP events to observe operations and personnel ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Interact directly with train guests/customers as needed for redressing complaints as needed.
- Prepare reports to appraise Executive Management about the functioning of the company.
- Research and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements across multiple states pertaining to all REI and REP events.
- Negotiation terms and contract development for activities related to REI and REP events.
- Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Manage/Oversee/Accomplish any special projects in new business development requested by Executive management.
- Oversee and ensure employee compliance with policy, procedures and safety initiatives of the company program by having a working knowledge of office, safety and operating rules as they may apply to REI/REP operations. Participate and lead as needed in remedial safety training sessions.
- Initiate and complete required paperwork and record keeping in a timely manner providing accurate reports to accounting, payroll, HR, and senior management as requested.

Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements
- Professional background in event management and practical experience in basic event logistics, design, and execution
- Possess fundamental project management skills including managing a team and giving clear timelines and deadlines
- Experience in the leadership local and remote staff
- Experience and proficiency in customer service
- Proficiency in budget creation and management
- Self-motivation and attention to the execution and timeline of project related tasks
- Ability to research and source products related to events including food and beverage
- Proficient writing and editing skills for manuals and operating procedures
- Ability to negotiate contractual terms and review compliance
- Ability to comprehend and communicate basic contractual language
- Experience with payroll, Human Resources, and Workers Comp documents
